The Duke's Sports

Miami Ohio Over (51) for 1.5 Units

Both of these teams' have poor running games and defend the pass poorly. Consequently, we'll look for an aerial circus in an extended game. Both teams are coming off extra rest. BG is 4-0 O/U following a bye-week and 4-1 O/U after scoring less than 20 points in previous game. Miami OH, after 4 straight "unders", is overdue for an "over" here. This should be the spot; after all, the Redhawks are 4-1 O/U in November and 12-5 O/U after allowing less than 20 points in previous game. With both teams relying on their respective pass games because of their inability to run the football, we'll look for big plays to evolve on both sides of the ball. "Over" the call.

2* Orlando -11 over UTAH
1* Orlando -6.5 1st half

This is an incredibly bad spot for UTAH. The Jazz are off B2B OT games. They had an incredibly exciting and exhausting comeback vs the Heat last night. Their starters logged a ton of minutes as they aren't the deepest team to begin with. The only reason they weren't blown off the floor in Miami was the superhuman game by Paul(don't call me Ronnie) Milsap. A let down is only natural for the whole team but especially Milsap. Orlando has been laying in wait for tonight. They had to love watching not only the heat lose, but to have Utah expend such energy was quite the bonus. The magic get Jameer Nelson back tonight and he is the cog in the engine that makes the offense flow.

2* College of Charleston +14 over Maryland

Maryland was awfully sloppy in their opening night win over Seattle. They had 29 turnovers. The 1st half was close but due to the fact that Seattle's tallest starter was 6'5", the terrapins wore them down despite their loose ball handling. Maryland is replacing many parts on their team so turnovers are expected but that was really bad. Charleston has 3 starters returning plus their 6th man. This is a team who finished 2nd last year in the underrated Southern conference. IMO guard play is the key in these match ups and COC will have the best guard on the floor in Goudelock. I will take the team that is used to playing with each other vs the big name major conf school getting 14 every time.

2* Columbus +100 over St Louis

This is another game similar to the Montreal game we won last night where we exploit teams with long streaks. How similar you ask? Lets look at the nhl.com preview to compare the 2 games: Yesterday: "The Canucks are one of the hottest teams in the League right now having won six straight and seven of their last 10 overall." Today: "No doubt the Blues are the hottest team in the NHL with a seven-game winning streak, their longest since a nine-game run from Oct. 15-Nov. 5, 2002" The fact is that Columbus is at even odds to take down today's "hottest team". Both teams rely a lot on goal tending to win their games as they average about a 2.5 goals per game. The main difference is Columbus is working off 3 days rest after a home loss while the Blues have been to Boston, New York, Columbus tonight and then have to go back home tomorrow for another game. These 2 teams resemble each other greatly so we have to go with the team that is well rested and playing at home. Home team is 15-5 in the last 20 meetings.
