Iowa St. at Connecticut
Pick: Connecticut -4
The Cyclones travel to Storrs off back-to-back, down-to-the-wire wins against in-state rivals – including last week’s triple-overtime roller-coaster victory over Iowa. With that our database also comes along for the ride as it points out that undefeated road teams off an overtime win are 1-15 ATS when taking on an opponent that has won 15 or more of its previous 32 home games in straight up fashion. In addition, Iowa State is just 2-6 ATS record on the road in non-conference games off an overtime win while ISU head coach Paul Rhoads is 0-3 ATS mark off a SU dog win. That doesn’t bode well against a Huskies’ bunch that was done in a by a late ‘pick six’ and field goal in last Saturday’s 24-21 loss at Vandy. On the flip side, UConn is 10-2 ATS at home off a SU and ATS loss while Huskies' head coach Paul Pasqualoni owns a 50-28-2 ATS mark at home in his career, including 6-2 ATS versus a foe off a SU dog win. As always, we’ll play the percentages and fade the Cyclones in this combination letdown (Northern Iowa, Iowa), look-ahead (Texas) affair. We recommend a 3-unit play on Connecticut.
