Reasons the Nationals win:

1.) System Play. We'll Play On - All teams when the money line is +125 to -125 (WASHINGTON) - poor NL offensive team (=5.00), starting a well rested pitcher who is working on 5 or 6 days rest. This is an 84-34 ML System hitting 71.2% since 1997.

2.) The Diamondbacks are 18-38 on the road this season. Washington is 29-26 at home. Getting the Nationals as a small favorite tonight is well worth the price of admission. Bet Washington at home.

1* on Philadelphia Phillies -123

We'll back the Phillies tonight who have a ton of momentum after a big comeback 10-9 win over the Dodgers last night. Philly is now 8-2 in their last 10 games overall, and they face a Mets team that is 13-24 in the second half of the season. New York has not won back-to-back games since June 22nd and June 23rd. That's a stretch of more than 1.5 months. In fact, the Mets are now 4-17 in their last 21 games following a win. Coming off a victory, this is a great spot to fade New York. Cole Hamels has posted a 3.15 ERA over his last 14 starts and we'll ride his electric left arm tonight. Take the Phillies on the Money Line.

Jack Jones

Boston Red Sox vs. Texas Rangers
Pick: Boston Red Sox

After blowing a 3-run lead in the 9th to lose to the Blue Jays last time out, I like the Red Sox to come back motivated for a win tonight behind the right are of Josh Beckett. The righty is 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA in three career starts in Arlington. Tommy Hunter has come back down to earth of late, going 2-1 with a 6.32 ERA and 1.469 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Hunter is 2-1 with a 7.53 ERA in three career starts vs. Boston, allowing 12 earned runs in 14.2 innings of work.

Boston is a superb 13-6 against the money line as a road underdog of +100 to +150 this season. In fact, the Red Sox are a very profitable 17-7 against the money line on the road when the money line is +125 to -125 this season. Boston is also 21-7 against the money line vs. a starting pitcher with good control (less than 1.75 BB's/start) this season. The Red Sox are Red Sox are 6-1 in their last 7 road games vs. a right-handed starter, 5-1 in their last 6 games following a loss, and 8-2 in Beckett's last 10 starts during Game 1 of a series. Take Boston Friday.

1 Unit on Chicago White Sox -147

After falling out of first with a disappointing performance against the Twins, expect the White Sox to bounce back strong behind ace Mark Buehrle tonight. The White Sox are 8-3 in Buehrle's last 11 home starts vs. the Tigers and 9-3 in his last 12 starts overall. Take the South Siders.
