Chicago Bears +2.5

You saw the Bears make the big comeback last week in Frisco. That kind of performance will win this game easily and there really is no reason the Bears can't do it here. The Bears have covered their last 4 trips to the Jets and the Monday night game will give them extra time to prepare and extra time to recover from playing on Sunday night last week. The Jets offense is not exactly clicking on all cylinders right now and the Bears are very ready to get a win in prime time. Take the Bears and the points in a case of the wrong team being favored here.

Rockies +105

At most offshore outlets San Diego opened as a higher favorite (-125) than what we are currently looking at which is a bit of a shock considering the Padres in front of their fans just swept a weekend series against an opponent (Giants) who technically is still in the National League West division chase. One of the reasons for the drop in tonight’s price tag has to do with San Diego starting pitcher Eric Stults who is tied for the major league lead with 17 losses. It was a little more than one week ago when Colorado was sitting in dead-last out west and riding an 0-7 losing skid. The injury-ravaged team never quit and is now on their longest WIN streak (6-0) in SEVENTEEN long months. During their current six-game run of prosperity the Rockies offense has hit a collective .375 with 61 different runners crossing the plate. Colorado who during the weekend climbed out of last place in the National League West has a chance at having a second league batting champion in a two-year stretch. In 2013 it was Michael Cuddyer winning a batting title (he homered yesterday) and in 2014 Justin Morneau current is one point ahead in the batting race with a .318 average. My research indicates that when facing an opposing pitcher with a high WHIP (1.350 to 1.450) Colorado has been almost unbeatable with a stirling “9-1” mark
