VEGAS EXPERTS

Oakland Raiders at Jacksonville Jaguars

Don't like the Raiders making a cross-country flight for an early 1:00 ET start off a SU dog win. The Silver and Black is just 12-25 ATS off a SU dog win. They have been crushed in their two previous early starts this season, at Tennessee and at Pittsburgh. The Jaguars are 18-6 ATS off a division road win.

Play on: Jacksonville

Dave Price

1 Unit on Jacksonville Jaguars -3.5

Huge letdown spot for the Raiders following last week's big upset win over San Diego. Plus, Jacksonville knows it needs this one after watching Indy win Thursday. Plays against road underdogs or pick (OAKLAND) off an upset win by 14 points or more as an underdog, are 112-63 ATS since 1983. This situation is already 5-2 ATS this season. Look for the Jags to cover the spread for a sixth straight game. Lay the points.

1 Unit on Chicago Bears +3

After what Chicago did to Michael Vick and the Eagles at home 2 weeks ago, there's no reason to think it can't defeat a Patriots team with a worse defense today. New England has had 1 less day to prepare for this one, and that gives this Bears team, which has been executing the game plan flawlessly during its 5-game win streak, the advantage. It's tough to get ready to go on a short week. In fact, the Patriots are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games when playing on Sunday following a Monday night game. In addition, the Bears are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog of 3.0 or less points. The Pats may be able to pass the football, but that won't phase this disciplined Chicago defense. In fact, Chicago is 10-2 ATS in its last 12 home games vs. excellent passing teams with a completion pct. of 64% or better in the second half of the season. Bet the Bears.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons will run the ball all over the Panthers. Carolina’s run defense gives up 133/game. Turner will bust it all afternoon on the front line of Carolina. The only game Carolina won, they threw the ball big. Atlanta has weak pass coverage, but I don’t see Jimmy Clausen making them pay with his 50% pass completion and still very inexperienced. The Panthers have no big play guys downfield this. Atlanta has covered their last 4 games against the spread. They beat the bad teams handily, I expect the same this week vs Carolina, who is just dreadful.

Jimmy Moore

Green Bay @ Detroit
Pick: Green Bay -6.5

The Packers are in a tough fight for the division with the Bears so they will be fully focused on this game. The Lions are in another season going nowhere, playing with their 3rd string QB and missing 2 of their best defensive players to injury. Not to mention their kicker is out of the season. Look for Green Bay to score early and often in this one.

Bob Balfe

New York Jets -5

The Jets were embarrassed last week on Monday Night and I like how they handled themselves by burying the game ball and moving on. Rex Ryan is a good coach and he will have his team ready to play today. The Dolphins are on their 3rd string QB and I would not be shocked to see a couple defensive scores by the Jets today. Both of Miami’s starting receivers are injured and they have a few key guys hurt on the offensive line. I just do not see the Dolphins putting up much of a fight on the road in December weather. Take the Jets.
