1 Unit on San Francisco Giants -114

This is a big game for the Giants as they try to cut into Arizona's lead in the West. Look for the reigning champs to rise up and get the job done this afternoon. The D-backs have been winning a lot of games but they have been doing so against losing clubs. They're only 1-6 in their last 7 vs. a team with a winning record. It's also worth noting that the Diamondbacks are 26-58 in their last 84 meetings in San Francisco. We'll take the Giants.

1 Unit on Milwaukee Brewers -150

The Brewers are showing value at this price considering they have won 8 straight against Houston. It's also worth noting that these 8 wins have come by an average of 4.25 runs. Rodriguez has been Houston's best performer, but Marcum still gives Milwaukee the edge. His 2.50 road ERA is nearly a run better than Rodriguez's home ERA. Bet the Brewers.

3 UNIT PLAY

West Virginia/ Marshall Under 55.5: In the last 3 years the West Virginia offense has not been great in their meetings with Marshall as they have not scored more than 27 points in any one game vs them over that stretch. Today they do have 8 starters back on offense from a group[ that put up 25.2 ppg last year. Today they take on a Marshall defense that did allow 28.8 ppg last year, but they are much improved over that version as they bring back 9 starters and 7 of their top 8 tacklers. The offense for the herd will be a problem for them this year as they bring back just 5 starters from a group that put up just 20.8 ppg last year. New QB AJ Graham is actually a better QB than Anderson was, but it will take it a few games to show it. He will be facing a WV defense that brings back just 4 starters, but this team always just reloads on that side of the ball. Back in 2005 they brought back 5 starters and still allowed just 17.8 ppg, plus in 2008 they brought back 3 starters and still allowed just 17 ppg. In the last 5 years WV has allowed just 12.8 ppg to Marshall, and just 6.7 ppg in their last 3 games played here vs them. With the last 3 in th9is series putting up just 35.3 ppg, I'll say that this one stays way under the total.

2 UNIT PLAY

SMU/ Texas A&M Under 56: June Jones is known for being an offensive minded coach and this year will be no exception as they bring back 10 starters from a group that put up 25.7 ppg last year, but that offense may have to wait to show what it can do til week 2, when they take on UTEP, as I feel that the Wrecking Crew defense is back. Back in 2008 when mike sherman took over the Aggies they allowed 37.4 ppg, but he has been recruiting very well on that side of the ball and it's starting to show as they allowed just 21.9 ppg last year. That's an improvement of 15.5 ppg from his first year here and with 8 starters back this year I expect that this will be his best defense yet. The Mustangs will also be much tougher on defense this year with 8 Starters back from a group that allowed 25.6 ppg last year. Like Sherman, this is June Jones 4th year and in his first year they allowed 38.2 ppg, so his team has improved by 12.6 ppg since he took over. They Will be going up against the 3rd best offense in the big 12, but I feel that they will get enough stops, while the Aggies will do the same to keep this game Under the total of 56.
