To make a long story short it has been a disastrous season for Texas who have been unable to overcome a long list of devastating injuries both on offense and in the pitching staff. Since the team is firmly in last place the Rangers decided to be cautious with an elbow injury to staff ace Yu Darvish who went from tonight’s scheduled starter to the disabled list. At most offshore locations Texas despite team struggles and some recent shaky starts by Darvish opened as a prohibitive favorite (-140). With the pitching scratch Texas comes in at “market value” this evening for which I am taking advantage. One of the keys to this pick surrounds the GENERAL MANAGER of Texas who claims that Robbie Ross (despite a lofty 5.10 minor league ERA) has progressed and is ready for tonight’s major league opportunity as a fill-in. For those who have followed visiting Tampa this season they tend to struggle in the initial three-to-four innings when facing a LEFTHANDED starting pitcher that they have never seen before. That actually gives host Texas an edge this evening and their offense has seen various personnel record FOUR HIT efforts 3 times in the most recent 13 games. Back on Tuesday in a VICTORY the Rangers received a four-hit effort from speedster Leonis Martin who has just reached the 20 stolen base plateau. I am aware of the recent excellent numbers put up by Tampa starter Jake Odorizzi but as mentioned earlier he actually opened offshore as a substantial underdog
