Unimpressed by either offensive unit this season, I am taking the Under in tonight's game between the Washington Redskins and New York Giants. Don't count on these two getting to 40, as they'll touch the low 30s and hang there.
As much criticism as the Redskins (1-1) have drawn because of the crap involving Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins and the entire offense, they're also receiving praise for an improved defense under the watch of coordinator Joe Barry.
Washington's stop unit leads the NFL in the fewest yards allowed (234.5 per game) and ranks third in points allowed (13.5).
For the Giants, who are 0-2, they'll be looking to avenge two straight losses they saw fourth-quarter leads disappear. In this on, I think they need to figure out how to stay balanced all four quarters, and be the time that strikes late to preserve win.
I'm thinking we'll see both defensive units dominate here, and the number stays well under the posted line.

I know it's a little early to be making plans for New Year's, but the Memphis Tigers don't think so, and tonight could go a long way toward their agends on the first day of 2016. That's why I'm laying the chalk with the Tigers, tonight against Cincinnati, when the two get together in Memphis for an American Athletic Conference showdown.
The Tigers come into this after a thrilling 44-41 win at Bowling Green. Quarterback Paxton Lynch looks solid just a few games in, and he's assuredly making people forget about the team that lost eight defensive starters and its defensive coordinator, Barry Odom. Instead of a defensive-minded squad, fourth-year head coach Justin Fuente has the Tigers looking like a team that can score at free will.
At 3-0, the Tigers have won 10 straight dating back to last season, as they boast the the nation's third longest active winning streak.
Now they take on what appears to be underachieving Cincinnati team that lost to Temple a couple weeks back, and just looked ho-hum against Miami. There was a question about Gunner Kiel, but it looks as if he'll play for the Bearcats. Nevertheless, after getting rocked pretty good, he'll be gunshy tonight.
This one belongs to the thriving Tigers, who will roll to at least a two-touchdown winner.

Your free play of the day is the Bearcats and Tigers to go OVER the posted total. At the time of this writing, the total in this game is around 66 in Vegas and offshore.
Tonight's game features two of the nation's best passing games in Cincinnati and Memphis. While Memphis QB Paxton Lynch is looking to become the QB with the nation's second longest winning streak, Cincy signal-caller Gunnar Kiel is not 100% after suffering a significant shoulder injury in last week's game.
Cincy head coach Tommy Tubberville thinks there's a good chance he'll play, which will only enhance our chance of this game going OVER the total. Already he has thrown for 805 yards and five TDs in three games. Backup QB Hayden Moore is the new backup for Cincinnati and he's been very good since replacing Kiel.
I expect a lot of points in this one, so take the OVER as your FREE play of the day.

Yankees -120
The Yankees look as if they will lock up that first wildcard spot, but they still have to finish the season strong here at home. The White Sox have nothing to play for and I don’t’ expect them to come into New York and beat a team that is in playoff mode playing good baseball right now. Take the Yankees

CINCINNATI (+8) over Memphis
Cincinnati owns this series going 6-1 ATS. The lone loss was last year when Memphis embarrassed the Bearcats at home blowing them out by 27. Bearcats problem this year has been holding onto the ball as they have nine turnovers the last 2 weeks! Two weeks ago they lost to a good Temple team even though they outgained the Owls by 261 yards. Last week they had a nail biter against Miami-Ohio because of 4 turnovers. Memphis is 3-0 but has beaten Bowling Green, Missouri State and Kansas and Cincy is far superior and a big step up even if they have to play without quarterback Gunner Kiel who suffered a concussion last week and is listed as questionable. But Kiel has practiced this week and we think he will at least share snaps. Either way, the Bearcats keep it close.
