CLEV. ST. @ ROBERT MORRIS | 01/07 | 7:00 PM EST
CLEV. ST. -7.5
ANALYSIS: Fading the Colonials in this spot. They are just 2-10 SU and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games. They are also 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games dating back to last year. On the other side, the Vikings are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games dating back to last season. Kenpom ranks Cleveland St as a much better team. They rank the Vikings as 152nd and the Colonials as 307th in the nation. This spread is way too low. Lay the points with the Vikings in this Horizon League matchup.
CORNELL @ PENN | 01/07 | 7:00 PM EST
CORNELL +3.5
ANALYSIS: The Big Red are 10-1 ATS because of their stellar offense. They have the 5th ranked scoring offense in the country at 85.7 PPG. The wrong team is favored in this game. The Quakers defense has been terrible. They are allowing 76.4 PPG on 46.6 percent from the field, both bottom 50 in Division I. The Big Red offense will push the pace and will thrive in this matchup. They will score too many points for the Quakers to keep up with. Take the points with the Big Red.

CLEV. ST. @ ROBERT MORRIS | 01/07 | 7:00 PM EST
UNDER 145
ANALYSIS: I'm not a huge totals guy in college hoops, but news broke late Thursday night that Robert Morris leading scorer Rasheem Dunn has left the program. The Colonials were a pretty bad offensive team as it was, averaging 69.2 ppg. Cleveland State is third in the Horizon League in defense, allowing 67.8 ppg. I have a feeling this total drops in the morning so we'll take a shot. Didn't love the spread even with the Dunn news.
BROWN @ HARVARD | 01/07 | 7:00 PM EST
HARVARD -147
ANALYSIS: Not much to chose from on Friday -- this will be Harvard's first Ivy League game in about 22 months, while Brown has started 0-1 in league play with a 77-73 loss at Penn on Sunday. The Crimson may have the best 1-2 punch in the league in Chris Ledlum (16.7 ppg, 9.4 rpg) and Noah Kirkwood (16.0 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.8 spg -- among national leaders in steals). Harvard is 12-1 in Ivy openers under under Tommy Amaker. The Crimson also are 40-5 in their past 45 at home overall. They look like the team to beat in the Ivy.

XAVIER @ BUTLER | 01/07 | 8:30 PM EST
XAVIER -5
ANALYSIS: I feel like this is too small of a line for a ranked Xavier team coming off their second loss of the season to Villanova. The Musketeers are going to come prepared to make sure there is no losing streak and they might do so emphatically. Butler is one of the worst teams in the Big East and my model makes this one 8 points in favor of Xavier. The Bulldogs were just visited by Seton Hall and lost by 15, I don't see much of a reason the same thing can't happen here. Grab the 3 points of value from the model on Xavier to cover the spread.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Oklahoma City Thunder
Play: Total Under 215.5 (-110)
Both teams games average 211.4 ppg over the last 2 weeks with the previous meeting failing to reach 190. The last 5 games both teams are 19th/17th in pace with OKC being the worst offensive rated team during that span and MIN being 24th. Both are also top 5 defensive rated teams over the same span. In these games where teams play twice in such a short span, it's important to watch how Bookmakers adjust the lines. A few of the main guys were GTD for MIN last time, but are all off the injury report today and the total has dropped. The under is 100-62-2 (61.7%) since 2015 when teams play within a week after the previous matchup went under and the total has been adjusted lower.

MILWAUKEE @ BROOKLYN | 01/07 | 7:30 PM EST
BROOKLYN -4.5
ANALYSIS: With the Nets returning home, Kyrie Irving will be unable to play. However, he’s their only absence of note at this time. Meanwhile, the Bucks could play this game without Jrue Holiday, Grayson Allen, Donte DiVincenzo, George Hill and Pat Connaughton. DiVincenzo is dealing with an ankle injury, while the rest are in the healthy and safety protocols. Look for the Nets to exploit their lack of depth.
UTAH @ TORONTO | 01/07 | 7:30 PM EST
TORONTO -11.5
ANALYSIS: The Jazz have basically thrown in the towel for this game. Donovan Mitchell (back), Rudy Gobert (COVID-19), Bojan Bogdanovic (finger), Mike Conley Jr. (rest) and Joe Ingles (COVID-19) are all out. Even Jordan Clarkson (back), Royce O’Neale (knee), Hassan Whiteside (concussion) and Rudy Gay (heel) are listed as questionable. The Raptors are back at full strength after most of the team worked its way through the health and safety protocols, so a blowout win could be coming.

ANALYSIS: Certainly a risk picking this early with COVID, but the Nets appear very healthy other than Joe Harris and the fact Kyrie Irving can't play at home. Milwaukee will have Giannis Antetokounmpo back from a one-game absence and Khris Middleton is healthy, but just about every other notable player on the team is out injured or in protocols after Jrue Holiday landed there Thursday.

UTAH @ TORONTO | 01/07 | 7:30 PM EST
UNDER 221
ANALYSIS: Utah leads the NBA in scoring ... but is basically resting everyone of note in this game -- that's going to happen in Toronto fairly often for opposing teams due to COVID reasons in Canada. This should be a blowout and scrubs don't tend to play good defense, but they also can't shoot.
+290 4-1 IN LAST 5 NBA O/U PICKS
CALGARY @ CAROLINA | 01/07 | 7:00 PM EST
CAROLINA -169
ANALYSIS: Second of a B2B for the Flames, who have lost two straight by multiple goals and this is the team's third city in four nights -- all against Eastern Conference contenders. They have lost six straight vs. teams with a winning record. Carolina is finally healthy and has won four in a row, all by multiple goals.
