ANALYSIS: The Reds lead the majors in OPS versus right-handed pitching (.786) and should have success against Zach Thompson. The Marlins have lost seven of Thompson's last nine starts. Wade Miley faces a Miami lineup that ranks 27th in OPS versus southpaws (.677). These teams just met last week, with the Reds sweeping four at home. Look for the Reds to beat Miami for the 11th time in their last 12 tries.

That the Chiefs are 2-0 this preseason is a testament to their depth. Backup quarterbacks Chad Henne and Shane Buechele each threw a touchdown pass in last week's 17-10 win over the Cardinals. Gerrit Cole starting is a bonus, especially since he’s been dominant in his last two starts, allowing just one run total in two Yankees wins. The A’s have lost three of Sean Manaea’s last four starts, including one where the Rangers scored seven runs off him. Yankees to win.

ANALYSIS: The same pitching matchup -- Wade Miley vs. Zach Thompson -- happened at Cincinnati last week, with the Reds priced at -185 before their 7-4 win. Now they're in Miami, and the price doesn't make sense; it's home price overreach. I'm being baited to take the Reds, and I'm biting the cheap number with their most profitable starter (Miley at +750). The Reds swept the Marlins in the four-game series last week and avoided a three-game sweep with a win at Milwaukee last night. Reds to win.

The one and only game of the year in the MLB has got to be on Gerrit Cole. The 4 time All-Star and former strikeout leader is sitting at just a favorite of (-141). Cole is 12-6 in 23 starts with an ERA under 3.00 and a WHIP under 1.00! In Cole’s 14 starts at night he is 10-2 with a 1.87 ERA (19 ER in 91.2 IP) and in his L8 night starts w/ a line > -250, the Yankees are 7-1. While Manaea isn’t “easy” competition statistically the Yankees are 25-9 vs. a SP w/ a ERA > 3.50 (including 15-2 in the L17!) and they are 11-1 in the L12 vs. a SP w/ a WHIP > 1.20. Manaea has lost his L2 starts vs. NYY, including one game earlier this year, in his L7 starts overall he has posted an ERA of 5.56 and a 2-2 record. Outside of the pitching match-up the Yankees are 27-8 in the 2nd game of the L35 series (including 20-5 in the L25 as a F and 8-2 as a road favorite), and when they are in the 2nd game of a series vs. a non-divisional opponent they are 18-4, including 7-1 vs. LHP, 9-2 vs. a SP w/ ERA > 3.50, and 6-1 as a favorite! On top of the fact that after a game like Thursday, they are 10-2 in the second game of a series after scoring more then 5 runs in the opener (9-1 w/ line < 120) and 12-2 after hitting more then 1 HR in the opener (5-0 after hitting more then 2 HR). The Yankees have also won 13 out of the L17 games vs. a LHP from a non-divisional opponent when the line is -150 (including 1-10 vs. a non-divisional opponent), and they are 1-8 vs. a RHP from a non-divisional opponent when the line is > -120 (and they are 0-7 w/ 145 > line > -120).
