ANALYSIS: Air Force easily toppled a double-digit spread in last week’s 41-10 win over Colorado. Meanwhile Wyoming already has a memorable loss in bettors' minds as it was walloped in Week 0 by Illinois. This could be a spot for a possible letdown for Air Force. Since 2017, Air Force is 0-5 in Mountain West openers. This includes the prior two years against Utah State and San Jose State with Haaziq Daniels as starting quarterback. Grab the underdog here in Wyoming.

ANALYSIS: Air Force may be the best team in a Mountain West conference that is stacked at the top this season. Like all the service academies, the Falcons will run on nearly every play and they have been very successful so far this season. They piled up 435 yards against Colorado a week ago. Wyoming did not do well against the Illinois run-first offense, giving up over six yards per carry. The Cowboys will have to bow up to make this competitive.

ANALYSIS: The Phillies are playing tonight (Thursday) in Miami without Rhys Hoskins and a solid chance he misses Friday in Atlanta as well. I like to do this sometimes: Pre-bet against a team the next night as really only bad things could happen to Philadelphia tonight. Friday's starting pitcher Ranger Suarez has a 5.06 ERA in three starts this year vs. Atlanta. The Braves, off on Thursday and thus a full bullpen available, counter with Max Fried (13-6, 2.50) and might activate second baseman Ozzie Albies off the injured list. The Braves have won eight of the past 11 at home in the series.

ANALYSIS: The Guardians basically tanked Thursday's big game vs. the White Sox by pushing back starting pitcher Triston McKenzie to start this equally big game and series opener against Minnesota. McKenzie has a 2.84 ERA at home and pitched seven shutout innings last time out at the Twins. The one good thing about Thursday was the Guards didn't use any key relievers in the blowout. The Twins did use their key guys in a home win over Kansas City. Minnesota leading hitter Luis Arraez wasn't able to start with a hamstring injury but did pinch-hit. Maybe he won't be able to start again (although my guess is he was being saved for this series and can at least DH). On the mound tonight, Bailey Ober (1-2, 4.01) will be making his return to the Twins after missing over three months with his groin strain. Honestly, this ML seems a little low with the pitching matchup.
