LIBERTY @ KENNESAW ST. | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
LIBERTY -4.5
ANALYSIS: My model says the Flames cover in almost 70 percent of the simulations, so you're getting excellent value with them at this number. Liberty is eager to bounce back from a loss to Jacksonville State on Saturday that ended its six-game winning streak. Flames G Darius McGhee is shooting 46.6 percent from the field this season and has hit double digits in points in all but one of his 21 games. The Owls have lost three of four, allowing at least 70 points in each defeat. Expect the Flames to cover.

EDMONTON -195
ANALYSIS: With the addition of Evander Kane, who scored in his Edmonton debut on Saturday, that Oilers offense is downright scary. Ottawa, meanwhile, is without two of its best offensive players in Drake Batherson (34 points) and Josh Norris (26 points). I only expect this moneyline to rise.

E. WASHINGTON @ WEBER ST. | 01/31 | 9:00 PM EST
E. WASHINGTON +10.5
ANALYSIS: This is a much bigger spread than I was expecting. The Eagles are one of the best teams at covering the spread on the road. They are 10-2 ATS in true road games, including 5-0 ATS in conference road games. While the Wildcats have been great ATS on the road, they are not at home. They are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games. The Eagles will be able to keep this game close enough to cover this big spread.

IOWA @ PENN ST. | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
IOWA -3.5
ANALYSIS: This will be these teams second matchup in the last nine days. In the last meeting, the Hawkeyes dominated the Nittany Lions as they won by 17 points. The Hawkeyes are the much better team and should be laying more points than this. Kenpom ranks the Hawkeyes 62 spots ahead of the Nittany Lions. I am expecting the Hawkeyes to dominate on both ends of the court and easily cover this spread.

The PREZ

Game: (21) Edmonton Oilers at (22) Ottawa Senators
Date/Time: Jan 31 2022 7:35 PM EST

Play Rating: 5%
Play: REGULATION Edmonton Oilers -122

This play is in REGULATION - please look for the 60-minute line and it is good to -155.

I mentioned on our last 5% in NHL that I will be playing the Oilers moving forward. We talked about the fact that they are a really good hockey team who completely hit the skids during the end of Dec and most of January. But they have righted this ship, winning 4 games in a row and now they are playing a bad bad team in the Senators. Currently, the Oilers sit 2 games behind Calgary for the last Wild Card spot and 7 points behind the Kings for 3rd in the division – BUT they have 6 games in hand on the Kings and 7 games in hand on the Ducks (the 2nd place team). The bottom line is that the Oilers cannot afford to lose games against bad teams. We saw this Saturday night as they completely demolished the Canadians and I think we see the same thing. The Senators are entering this game on a 2 game losing streak and have scored 12 goals in their last 5 games. These 2 teams just do not compare and now with Evander Kane on Edmonton, the Oilers have more scoring depth than they have had in ages. They can finally roll our 2 lines that both can score all game long and I expect them to put up a minimum of 4 goals. I also like that in the middle of Edmonton’s bad run, they lost 6-4 to the Senators. We are on the Oilers in this spot, but I like them so much better this Monday. Yes the Oilers are going to lose some games along the way, but they are going to end the season winning around 65% of their games moving forward. This is a playoff team, loaded with talent all over the ice, finally getting some good goaltending and better d and feeling good about themselves. Please take the Oilers -122 as a 5% bet in regulation and let’s all cash this play together.

NEW YORK -200
ANALYSIS: I might be a total moron for trusting the Knicks this much, but the Kings are horrible, at the end of a long road trip and for sure without Marvin Bagley and Terence Davis and probably without De'Aaron Fox. New York is pretty healthy. I am blacklisting the Knicks for the rest of the season if they lose this.

MEMPHIS @ PHILADELPHIA | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
MEMPHIS +2
ANALYSIS: Well, dang you 76ers. This was to be the marquee matchup of the night between MVP candidates Ja Morant of the Grizzlies and Joel Embiid of the Sixers, but Embiid will sit out for rest. Thus, I'd guess the Grizzlies win now but I'll take the 2 points just in case.

MEMPHIS +2
ANALYSIS: The last time these two teams met, the Grizzlies won by 35 points in Memphis. Joel Embiid and Seth Curry were out for the Sixers, but the Grizzlies didn’t have Ja Morant. While this game should be closer between two healthier teams, I’ll roll with the Grizzlies since they are 17-7 ATS on the road.

FLORIDA @ COLUMBUS | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
COLUMBUS 240
ANALYSIS: Blue Jackets have played the second game of a back-to-back 5 times this season and they are 2-3 straight up and against the spread. So either they’ve won or they haven’t covered. Elvis Merzlikins should be in net after the backup Korpisalo started last night, and the Jackets have now won two in a row including a big comeback win against the Rangers. We know how dominant the Panthers are at home, but I am not sure why they are favored this much on the road. They are still just 8-6-5 on the season while the Jackets are 12-9-1 at home. Panthers are also playing the front end of a back-to-back so we could get some massive CLV if the Panthers save Bobrovsky for the Rangers tomorrow. Puck line at even money is also a good play but the ML value is just too good. Take the value on the Blue Jackets at home.

+260 43-32-1 IN LAST 76 NHL PICKS

VANCOUVER @ CHICAGO | 01/31 | 7:30 PM EST
CHICAGO -120
ANALYSIS: Jaroslav Halak is starting instead of regular starter Thatcher Demko so I feel comfortable taking the Hawks at home now. Both these teams are struggling right now with the Canucks having lost 4 of their last 5 games and 7 of their last 10 and the Blackhawks losing 5 of their last 6. However, only two of those games were at home for the Hawks and they were against two of the toughest teams in the West in the Wild and Avs. Hawks are much better at home, so I will take the home team as a pick ‘em with both teams struggling.

ANALYSIS: Ducks have scored 5 goals in 3 of their last 5 games and the Red Wings have allowed 36 total goals in their last 5 games. Red Wings have also scored at least 3 goals in 6 of their last 7 games. 4 of the last 5 Ducks games have come over this total and their last game really could have been a lot higher scoring with the Senators putting up 45 shots but only getting one goal. John Gibson has been very good lately but he allows a full goal more on the road and these teams played to total of 7 the first time they played this season. Both teams are relatively healthy, take the over.

MIAMI @ BOSTON | 01/31 | 7:30 PM EST
BOSTON -145
ANALYSIS: I was only playing this game if Jimmy Butler was out for Miami -- Kyle Lowry we already knew wasn't playing -- and Butler is sitting. Thus, barring Boston having to sit someone unforeseen it should win at home. Update: PJ Tucker is now out for Miami as well so the Celtics really should win.

VANCOUVER @ CHICAGO | 01/31 | 7:30 PM EST
CHICAGO -115
ANALYSIS: Yep, I'm with John as when I saw it would be Jaroslav Halak making his first appearance in net for Vancouver since Dec. 30, I quickly leaned Hawks at home -- I was just waiting to ensure it would be Marc-Andre Fleury in net for Chicago and it will be. The Nucks also are a bit short-handed on the blueline due to injury/COVID.

FLORIDA @ COLUMBUS | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
COLUMBUS +1.5
ANALYSIS: I don't have the stones like John to pick an outright upset here, but the Jackets certainly could win as Florida has been only slightly above average on the road compared to invincible at home. Columbus is coming off back-to-back impressive wins and totaled 11 goals in them. Elvis Merzlikins was torched in his last home game but overall has been much better there than away. We'll take the puckline at even money.

+967 50-31-2 IN LAST 83 NHL PICKS

LIBERTY @ KENNESAW ST. | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
LIBERTY -200
ANALYSIS: This number should be bigger -- the SportsLine Projection Model has Liberty winning by 14 and ESPN's power rankings by about 12. Still, I'm not messing around with the spread on a road team with a target on its back. The division-leading Flames might be a bit flat off a home loss to Jacksonville State on Saturday in a possible ASUN conference title game preview but they should certainly win this game. Liberty has lost back-to-back ASUN games only one time in the last four seasons (Jan. 23-25, 2020). Darius McGhee ranks No. 2 in the country in three-pointers made (86) and total points (480) and No. 3 in points per game (22.9).

SIUE @ AUSTIN PEAY | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
AUSTIN PEAY -150
ANALYSIS: This is my first time picking an Austin Peay game this season and thus my first opportunity to recite the best cheer in all of sports: "Let's Go Peay!" The Governors aren't very good but SIU Edwardsville is worse with just one conference victory. The Govs have won 13 straight over SIU Edwardsville, the longest active streak for the Govs against an OVC opponent. Freshman Elijah Hutchins-Everett leads the team in scoring (13.2) and rebounding (7.5) this season. In the last five games, Hutchins-Everett is averaging 15.6 points per game and shooting 60 percent from the field.

PORTLAND @ OKLAHOMA CITY | 01/31 | 8:00 PM EST
PORTLAND -4
ANALYSIS: The Thunder, who are already one of the worst teams in the league, will now be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) at least through the All-Star break. He has missed five games this season, each of which they lost by at least six points. The Trail Blazers have enough fire power in CJ McCollum, Anfernee Simons, Norman Powell and Jusuf Nurkic that another lopsided loss without Gilgeous-Alexander could be coming for the Thunder.

COLORADO ST. @ WYOMING | 01/31 | 8:00 PM EST
WYOMING +1.5
ANALYSIS: In sports betting, I love to fade trends, especially when it feels too good to be true. Colorado State fits that philosophy Monday. The Rams have gone a remarkable 62 games since they last lost consecutive games, dating to December 2019. I’m expecting that streak to end as Wyoming is motivated from losing both matchups on its home floor to the Rams last season. Take Wyoming.

N. COLORADO @ PORTLAND ST. | 01/31 | 10:30 PM EST
N. COLORADO -3.5
ANALYSIS: Portland State is one of the best five-win teams in college basketball. The Vikings have fought hard over their last several games, which featured three close losses. They finally broke through as they defeated NAU 97-76 on Saturday. On Monday night, they’ll face a Northern Colorado team that’s won three straight Big Sky road games. Take the Bears.

TORONTO -1.5
ANALYSIS: I would recommend playing Toronto in regulation but don't have that option here, so we'll do the puckline because I have ZERO faith in Devils young netminder Akira Schmid. He's 0-3-0 with a 4.99 GAA and .824 SV and the Leafs are by far the best team he will have faced yet. Jack Campbell has been a bit shaky of late for Toronto but has a 1.81 GAA at home. The Leafs have scored at least three goals in 19 of their last 20 games and if they get to four here, I think we are safe. Toronto puckline at -125.

FLORIDA A&M @ ALABAMA ST. | 01/31 | 9:00 PM EST
FLORIDA A&M +1.5
ANALYSIS: Florida A&M started the season sluggish despite having all five starters return from last campaign and adding a few quality transfers from the portal. But the Rattlers have put it all together in the last three weeks with wins and covers in their last six games. In their first season in the SWAC, they’re sitting atop the East Division at 6-2. Alabama State is 4-4 in the SWAC and 5-15 overall. Look for Florida A&M to cover.

DREXEL @ UNC-WILM. | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
UNC-WILM. -1.5
ANALYSIS: Drexel has covered its last four games as a road underdog, which is something to take note of, but I buzzed right by it looking to ride UNC Wilmington again. The Seahawks sit atop the CAA at 8-0, while the Dragons are 4-4. UNC Wilmington has won its last 11 games and covered its past 10. Short price with a team that's rolling. Take the Seahawks to cover.

SIUE @ AUSTIN PEAY | 01/31 | 7:00 PM EST
AUSTIN PEAY -2
ANALYSIS: Austin Peay has beaten SIU-E an incredible 13 straight times, and I think the Governors win and cover in this uninspiring matchup Monday night. The Cougars have lost six straight overall, covering just once in that span. Over those six games, SIU-E has fallen short of oddsmakers' expectations by an average of five points. This team is beaten up and on the road for the second straight game. Austin Peay, on the other hand, is showing improvement. The Governors are 3-1 ATS (2-2 SU) over their last four, the only ATS loss coming by one point. Lay the small number.
