MLB | N.Y. METS @ N.Y. YANKEES | 08/22 | 7:05 PM EDT
N.Y. METS -170
ANALYSIS: I want to get one more play in early because I don't want to let it rise. Max Scherzer has been dominant since returning from the IL and he faces a Yankees team that has been struggling to score. Domingo German has been decent but he should struggle against a Mets team that just put up 10 runs. The Yankees won yesterday but that doesn't mean they've turned it around. I like the Mets on the road.

MLB | L.A. ANGELS @ TAMPA BAY | 08/22 | 7:10 PM EDT
TAMPA BAY -190
ANALYSIS: I wanna get this in now before it goes over -200 because its already been rising and I might not be around in the morning. Tucker Davidson has been hit or miss and he faces a Rays team that returned a couple key right handed bats in Harold Ramirez and Manuel Margot recently. Jeffrey Springs has been very good and he faces the second worst team in the league against lefties, who were also jut shut down by the lefty on Sunday. Shohei Ohtani also left yesterday's game early and could be out for this game. I like the Rays at home.

MLB | MILWAUKEE @ L.A. DODGERS | 08/22 | 10:10 PM EDT
L.A. DODGERS -1.5
ANALYSIS: Im not gonna overthink this one, the Brewers were lucky to salvage a game against the Cubs and now they head to Los Angeles. They did win two of the four games in Milwaukee against the Dodgers but they had very favorable pitching matchups in those games. They face Julio Urias today and he is 6-0 with a 2.03 ERA in his last seven starts. He has won six starts in a row. He also didn’t allow a run in 5 IP against the Brewers last rotation turn. Eric Lauer is much worse on the road with a 4.48 ERA but he only allowed 2 ER in 7 IP against the Dodgers last time around. The Dodgers are ranked 7th in the league in wOBA against lefties since the All-Star break though while the Brewers are ranked 28th. The Dodgers bullpen is also ranked 2nd in the league since the ASB while the Brewers are ranked 16th. Take the Dodgers at home at -120 on the run line.

MLB | MILWAUKEE @ L.A. DODGERS | 08/22 | 10:10 PM EDT
L.A. DODGERS -1.5
ANALYSIS: The Dodgers have covered -1.5 in 11 straight games that Julio Urias has started. The latest of those was in Milwaukee, where Urias threw five shutout innings, leading the Dodgers to a 4-0 victory. Eric Lauer pitched well against the Dodgers at home, but the Brewers still lost. While I don't think Lauer will implode tonight in LA, I do think that we'll see the Dodgers pick up a much easier win. The Brewers really struggle against left-handed pitching, while the Dodgers have been hitting everyone well lately. Take the Dodgers on the run line at -115.

The Subway series between the Mets and Yankees could be a World Series final. We are going with the run line tonight because the Mets at -160 are too high to play. The Mets have a much better pitcher, are a great road team, and are the best team in baseball at hitting right-handed pitchers. Look for a convincing win by the Mets. The Yankees have not looked good in the second half of the season but should coast their way to the AL East Division Title. Take the Mets.

MLB | MIAMI @ OAKLAND | 08/22 | 9:40 PM EDT
UNDER 7
ANALYSIS: The Marlins have scored three runs or fewer in 20 of their last 21 games. They have RHP Edward Cabrera on the mound in the series opener, a 24-year-old who hasn’t given up a run in three starts since returning from injury. The Athletics don’t hit well - especially at home, where they have a .206 batting average and score only 2.8 runs per contest. This game has Under written all over it.

UNDER 7.5
ANALYSIS: Some books have this at 7 and some at 7.5, and I honestly only like it at 7.5 (under is -120 favorite) as I almost expect the final score here to be 4-3 between two very bad offensive teams. The SportsLine Projection Model has 6.7 total runs being scored. The Marlins score four runs in a game so infrequently that they celebrate like they won the World Series when they do. Miami pitcher Edward Cabrera (1.78 ERA) hasn't allowed a run in his past three outings. His streak of 14.2 scoreless innings is the longest streak by a Marlins rookie since Henderson Alvarez made three straight scoreless starts from May 22-June 2, 2014. Only Detroit has scored fewer runs than the A's. Probably plenty of good seats available for this one!

MLB | MIAMI @ OAKLAND | 08/22 | 9:40 PM EDT
MIAMI -145
ANALYSIS: The Athletics average 2.86 runs at home and tonight they face budding ace Edward Cabrera. Since coming back from an elbow injury early this month, the 24-year-old Marlins starter has allowed zero runs and six hits over 14.2 innings while fanning 21. He has electric stuff and should shut down an Oakland team that bats .206 at home. Miami's offense is pathetic, as everyone knows, but should get a boost from facing Oakland's Adam Oller. He owns an 8.59 ERA at RingCentral Coliseum. Lay the price.

MLB | N.Y. METS @ N.Y. YANKEES | 08/22 | 7:05 PM EDT
N.Y. YANKEES +1.5
ANALYSIS: The Yankees have covered the runline in three of the last four meetings against the Mets. Both pitchers faced off at the end of the July. Max Scherzer went seven scoreless only giving up five hits. Domingo German was alright last outing against the Mets, giving up two earned runs off five hits. The Yankees are 41-28 in both the regular season and playoffs all-time against the Mets. Yankees to cover the runline (-125).

MLB | CINCINNATI @ PHILADELPHIA | 08/22 | 7:05 PM EDT
UNDER 8.5
ANALYSIS: The Under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings in Philadelphia. When these two team faced last week, the under hit in two out of the three games. Noah Syndergaard is 6-0 with a 2.36 ERA in his career against the Reds. Even though Luis Cessa is a relief pitcher, he has not surrender a run since July 4th. The Phillies have averaged 3.09 runs in since August 11th and the Reds are the second-worst league in the league in OPS on the road, .631, and are bottom 10 team in batting average, .228 on the road. Take the Under.

MLB | TEXAS @ MINNESOTA | 08/22 | 7:10 PM EDT
MINNESOTA -1.5
ANALYSIS: Yes, the Twins burned me yesterday, but they send out Sonny Gray tonight. He’s 3-1 at home with a 3.08 ERA. Gray faces Texas’ Cole Ragans, who’s 0-1 with a 10.38 ERA on the road. On Monday’s, the Twins have the third best batting average in the league, .277, and fourth best OPS, .768. The Twins have covered the runline in three out of the last five games Gray as started. Take the Twins on the runline (+100).

MLB | MILWAUKEE @ L.A. DODGERS | 08/22 | 10:10 PM EDT
L.A. DODGERS -1.5
ANALYSIS: Julio Urias at home this season is 5-2 with a 2.77 ERA and just pitched five shutout innings against the Brewers last week. His last two home starts, 13 innings surrendering one run and the Dodgers covered the runline in both games. The Dodgers have covered the runline in 10 of Urias' last 11 starts. The Brewers are a bottom five team in strikeouts and OPS against lefties this season, 324 K's and .565 OPS. Eric Lauer is 4-3 on the road with 4.48 ERA and gave up two runs off four hits last week against the Dodgers. Take the Dodgers on the runline (-120).

MLB | N.Y. METS @ N.Y. YANKEES | 08/22 | 7:05 PM EDT
N.Y. METS -165
ANALYSIS: I was a bit on the fence between Mets moneyline or Yankees runline, but with no Gleyber Torres for the Bombers we'll back the visitors behind Max Scherzer (9-2, 2.15 ERA). He is looking for his 200th career win to join fellow former Cy Young winners Justin Verlander (241) and Zack Greinke (223) as the active pitchers with at least 200. Scherzer shut out the Yankees at Citi Field over seven innings last month. AL MVP favorite Aaron Judge has now gone nine games without a homer — his longest drought of the season — and he’s hit just .133 over that time. The Yankees are 0-5 in their last five games following a win. Note that rain could be a factor.
