Play: 1H Total Under 5.0 (-110) B Ober (RHP), C Mize (RHP) Must Start
Both SPs are solid and neither lineup is killing anything lately except their records. My numbers have this total at 4.4 and the last three games between these two have all been under. Take out the bullpens and make a small play on the 1st 5 Under 5.
(965) Boston Red Sox at (966) Tampa Bay Rays
Game: (965) Boston Red Sox at (966) Tampa Bay Rays

Play: 1H Boston Red Sox Total Over 1.5 (-120) Action
The Sox are the #2 hitting team the last 30 days and are the #3 hitting team vs RHP. Patino is having a nice season but his WHIP is nothing special and he has had some exposure to the Sox lineup which is always a hitter's advantage. If the 1st 5 total is 4.5, the Red Sox should be able to garner 2 runs. I have the number at 2.66. Make a small play on the Red Sox Over 1.5 1st 5.

TAMPA BAY -125
ANALYSIS: Nick Pivetta was outstanding in April but he has been below average since. In five of his last eight starts, he's given up four earned runs. The Rays have won seven straight overall and are 7-1 in the last eight meetings with Boston. That includes five straight home wins. Lay the reasonable price.

ANALYSIS: The Diamondbacks just went 6-1 on their last homestand including winning 3 of 4 games against the Padres. One of those games was a no hitter by tonight’s starting pitcher, Tyler Gilbert. Gilbert’s only start where he struggled came at Coors Field. Chris Paddack hasn’t pitched in over a month and he was hit hard in his last outing against the Dbacks. The Padres are 9-15 overall and 3-8 on the road since the trade deadline.
BOSTON @ TAMPA BAY | 08/30 | 7:10 PM EDT
TAMPA BAY -135
ANALYSIS: The Rays have won 7 games in a row and they are tied for the second-best record in the league since the trade deadline at 19-6. The Red Sox are 12-14 since the trade deadline and 4-10 on the road. Luis Patino is much better with a 2.10 ERA at home and Nick Pivetta has struggled recently. Pivetta has faced the Red Sox three times already this season and the Red Sox bullpen is a little worked after the close games in Cleveland. The Rays are 5-1 at home against the Red Sox this season.

ANALYSIS: Generally speaking, teams that have to travel to a city for a one-game makeup and then fly right back out to another location don't fare well in that makeup game because they just don't want to be there. That's the position the Twins are in here. They played a home series over the weekend vs. the Brewers, now have this meaningless game and then fly back home for another series starting Tuesday vs. the Cubs. Minnesota is a pretty lousy road team as it is. We'll take the Tigers on the RL -- behind former No. 1 overall pick Casey Mize on the mound -- to be safe.

ATLANTA @ L.A. DODGERS | 08/30 | 10:10 PM EDT
UNDER 9
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles has played 13 straight games that would not have exceeded this total, and with a solid pitching matchup on Monday, there is no reason to suddenly expect a much higher-scoring game for the Dodgers. Atlanta starts LHP Drew Smyly, who hasn't pitched since Aug. 21. Smyly is 1-6 OU (-3.00 rpg) since 2019 when starting with 6-9 days' rest. The last two starts he made in this situation, both this year, were 1-0 wins by the Braves.
