ANALYSIS: Ive been going back and forth on this play all morning, and Willson Contreras sitting for the Cubs was all I needed. The Cubs have actually owned the Brewers this season and they’ve been playing better lately. However, the Brewers are much better at home at 6-5 since the trade deadline while the Cubs are 14-12 since the trade deadline and 6-6 on the road. However, I think the Brewers finally had a spark last night late in the game with Christian Yelich’s first home run in what seems like forever. The Cubs are the 2nd worst team in the league in wOBA against lefties since the trade deadline, take the Brewers at home.

ANALYSIS: What was keeping me off this play originally was my trust for Kohei Arihara. However, Drew Hutchison has been just as hit or miss this season and the Rangers have a massive advantage just about everywhere else. They have the 9th ranked bullpen since the trade deadline while the Tigers are ranked 26th. The Tigers are also ranked 2nd worse in the league in wOBA against righties since the trade deadline while the Rangers are ranked 10th. Take the Rangers to win the series at home.

ANALYSIS: Nick Pivetta has been pitching well in August, but he allowed 7 ER in 5.2 IP in his only other start against the Rays. Corey Kluber has also had a good August and he pitched quality starts in two of his three starts against the Red Sox. The Rays bullpen ranked 8th since the trade deadline, Red Sox ranked 27th. The Rays are 8-4 against the Red Sox this season and the Rays are 15-9 since the trade deadline while the Red Sox are 10-13. I think the Rays avoid the sweep.
