N.Y. JETS @ INDIANAPOLIS | 11/04 | 8:20 PM EDT
N.Y. JETS +10.5
ANALYSIS: The Colts lost wideout T.Y. Hilton, defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis and safety Khari Willis to injuries in their devastating loss to the Titans. Still, this looks like a nice bounceback spot, hosting the young Jets on a short week. But Mike White is much better than I gave him credit for. He threw for 405 yards and three TDs in New York's monumental upset of Cincinnati, and it wasn't fluky. On the other side of the ball, the Jets made an early goal-line stand that set the tone. It's no coincidence C.J. Mosley was back in the lineup; he missed the Jets' 54-13 loss at New England with a hamstring injury. With White and Mosley on the field Thursday night, the Jets should stay within the number.

DALLAS @ CALGARY | 11/04 | 9:00 PM EDT
CALGARY -140
ANALYSIS: The Flames were ousted from the playoffs by the Stars in six games last August. Dallas won three straight while scoring seven goals in Game 6. The Flames are ranked No. 1 in shot differential (+59) while the Stars are ranked in the middle of the pack with a -7 shot differential. The Flames are coming off an OT home loss despite out-shooting Nashville 40-22. Take the home team.

GEORGIA ST. @ LOUISIANA | 11/04 | 7:30 PM EDT
LOUISIANA -12
ANALYSIS: The Rajin' Cajuns have been the best team in the Sun Belt this season regardless of what the polls say. They have been particularly good on their home field. Louisiana has won its last three games at home by at least 28 points. One of those wins came over Appalachian State. Louisiana should cover this spread comfortably.

PHILADELPHIA @ PITTSBURGH | 11/04 | 7:00 PM EDT
UNDER 6
ANALYSIS: A lot of forward injuries on both sides -- Sidney Crosby had just returned from offseason surgery but now is out with COVID. Both goaltenders, Carter Hart and Tristan Jarry, have been quite good for the most part. Top Pens blueliner Kris Letang is out of protocols and will play; I was probably going to back Philly on the ML if he wasn't in, but we'll take the total with a push very possible. I'll hope for a 3-2 final.
BUFFALO @ SEATTLE | 11/04 | 10:00 PM EDT
UNDER 5.5
ANALYSIS: Second of a back-to-back for Buffalo, which will be without top-line forward Victor Olofsson for a second straight game due to injury. He has five goals and four assists. The Sabres are using backup Dustin Tokarski in net, but he has a 1.92 GAA this year in three appearances. Seattle, meanwhile, is just not a great offensive team -- no surprise as an expansion club -- but netminder Philipp Grubauer is more than capable of blanking short-handed Buffalo. He has a 1.77 GAA at home. I like Seattle to win but not at -200.
DALLAS @ CALGARY | 11/04 | 9:00 PM EDT
CALGARY -145
ANALYSIS: Makes me a tad nervous that two other experts are on the Flames, but now that Jacob Markstrom has been confirmed in net, it's tough to see them losing to low-scoring Dallas, which is on a four-game skid. Under wouldn't be a bad play here, either. Calgary comes off a tough loss but dominated the Preds in that game otherwise. Those things happen in the NHL when the opposing netminder stands on his head. The Flames are 6-0-1 when scoring the game's first goal this season.
N.Y. ISLANDERS @ MONTREAL | 11/04 | 7:00 PM EDT
UNDER 5.5
ANALYSIS: The Under is pretty juiced here at -135 (we won't see a total of 5, though) but these are two of the lowest-scoring teams in the NHL. The Habs we understand because they have been obliterated by injury and another key forward, Jonathan Drouin, will not play here. He took a puck to the head Tuesday and has seven points on the season. Montreal netminder Jake Allen comes off a shutout and has been better at home in 2021. Isles goaltender Ilya Sorokin has a 2.26 GAA on the season.
PHILADELPHIA @ DETROIT | 11/04 | 7:00 PM EDT
PHILADELPHIA -160
ANALYSIS: Half the Sixers are out, but Joel Embiid plans to play, and he with Seth Curry, Tyrese Maxey, Shake Milton and Matisse Thybulle should be enough to edge a bad, bad Pistons team -- although I was prepared to take Detroit if Embiid sat.
UTAH @ ATLANTA | 11/04 | 7:30 PM EDT
ATLANTA +117
ANALYSIS: Early today, the Jazz reportedly were going to be without Rudy Gobert. Well, he's playing but All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell isn't. That dropped this spread from -3 to -1.5 for Utah, but what's the point of taking Atlanta +1.5? We'll hit the moneyline.

DALLAS @ CALGARY | 11/04 | 9:00 PM EDT
CALGARY -145
ANALYSIS: The Flames burned us in their last game at home in OT to move to 1-0-2 at home this season. Jacob Markstrom has still been one of the best, if not the best, goalie so far this season while the Stars have been struggling to score. They have scored just 18 goals in 9 games and they are 2-3-1 on the road this season. The Stars have lost 4 straight games while the Flames have started 6-1-2, take the Flames at home.
PHILADELPHIA @ PITTSBURGH | 11/04 | 7:00 PM EDT
PITTSBURGH -125
ANALYSIS: We went 0-3 on Penguins plays last week and all three losses were at home, but they can’t lose 4 straight at home can they?? The Penguins are currently last in the Metropolitan Division with their losing streak, so I think they finally put together a good game tonight. Carter Hart has been playing well to start the season but so has Tristan Jarry. Take the Pens at home.
N.Y. ISLANDERS @ MONTREAL | 11/04 | 7:00 PM EDT
MONTREAL +110
ANALYSIS: The Islanders are now playing their 8th straight road game out of 13 straight road games the Islanders will play before they play their home opener. I don’t think the Canadiens are very good, but they are 2-3 at home and they picked up a win most recently at home. The Canadiens also have trouble scoring, but so do the Islanders with just 17 goals in 7 games, so that should wash out. Take the value in the Habs at home.
VEGAS @ OTTAWA | 11/04 | 7:00 PM EDT
OTTAWA +105
ANALYSIS: Matt Murray is healthy again, and the Senators have been playing solid at home dating back to last season. The Golden Knights are just 2-2 on the road this season and they are in the middle of an East Coast road trip right now. Robin Lehner is just 3-5-0 with a 3.13 GAA on the season. William Karlsson broke his foot and will be out 6 weeks. Add that on to Alex Tuch, Mark Stone, and Max Pacioretty who are all already out for the Knights, and there is good value on the Senators at home.
