In recent years, the Wildcats have dominated the Cougars as they are 17-1 SU and 15-3 ATS in their last 18 matchups. The Wildcats are 4-1 ATS on the road against conference opponents. This line is too small. I am expecting the Wildcats to easily cover this small spread.

I am expecting this game to be played at a slow pace and stay under this total.

ANALYSIS: This is purely a model pick -- i.e., I don't have a strong feeling on Coastal Carolina personally but every model/simulation I check has the Chants winning at home so I don't really understand why they are home dogs. CCU won at Georgia State 72-68 in OT on Jan. 22. The Chants have the No. 1 offense in the Sun Belt and also rank a spot higher than GSU defensively. Vince Cole (14.9 ppg) and Essam Mostafa (14.9 ppg) are tied for seventh in the league in scoring. Mostafa is second in the conference and 12th nationally with 11 double-doubles. After going through a midseason slump, Rudi Williams has rebounded to average almost 15 points per game over the last six for CCU. That's a solid trio. Georgia State is 2-6
ATS in its past eight on the road.

ANALYSIS: I'm ABSOLUTELY horrified that Justin Perri and I are on the same side of now two games ... total coincidence. The state of Idaho -- all 739 people -- may shut down for this mega-clash tonight (The Spud War?) between between 4-17 Idaho State and 5-17 Idaho (sponsored by Ore-Ida?). Yeah, the Vandals are essentially the lesser of two evils as four of their five wins are at home and the Bengals are winless away. Idaho has a good backcourt of Mikey Dixon (16.9 ppg), Trevante Anderson (13.0 ppg) and transfer Rashad Smith (10.2) but can't stop anyone defensively. That may not be an issue tonight as Idaho State is last in the Big Sky in scoring at 62.5 ppg. The Bengals are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games but per usual I'm taking the spread out of the equation.

Pittsburgh remains without Evgeni Malkin, and it wouldn't shock me if Casey DeSmith got the call in net over No. 1 Tristan Jarry, although I like Ottawa +1.5 (-135) regardless.

Look for these defensively minded teams to limit second chance opportunities and slow the game, grab the Under at 122.5.

ANALYSIS: This feels like an over reaction in the market to recent play creating value on a line. The line for this spread opened at -1 last night in favor of Coastal Carolina, but now you can find it at +2. I'm going to take that value on a team that has won 14 of their last 18 home games. Coastal has also already beaten Georgia State on the road, so I think now at home they should be able to cover this generous spread. Ken Pom has Coastal by 5, winning the game 66% of the time. My projections agree, indicating Coastal should win by 3.5 points. Go grab the +2 on the better ranked home team.

ANALYSIS: Neither of these teams is playing all that well this season, they're both 2-10 in the Big Sky so far and ranked outside the top 300 D1 teams. However, Idaho State is definitely the less reliable squad and is ranked as one of the worst ten schools in the nation, so we'll bet against them. Idaho State is 0-11 on the road straight up and this matchup has historically been won by the home team. In fact, in all five of the last meetings between these teams the home team covered. I expect it to go that way again today as my model's projections have Idaho by 7. Lay it with the Vandals at home.

We handicap NBA and CBB using 3 Models and also a very strong database, plus other things that are not privy to the Odds Makers relative to how they make their number. We also account for injuries and overreactions to a number based on recent play or trends. Because of this our writeups will not contain info that we use to derive our number as doing so will give a heads up to how we play NBA Totals and CBB Totals which could result in worse numbers at the books.
It is not often that I play Totals based on 2 TERRIBLE Offenses but that is what we have here with both in the bottom 1/7 in the country for offensive efficiency. These teams simply have trouble putting the ball in the hoop with the visitors ranked #307 for OE and Edwardsville ranked #318. Long range shooting is the worst of the lot for these two teams ranked #345 and #349 out of 358 D1 Teams. UTM is struggling scoring right now managing 61 or fewer in 3 of their last 4 outings, and SIU 47, 59 and 63 in their last 3 games with one of those going to OT!. That is because they lost their Top scorer 4 gaómes ago. The visitors are 6-0-1 UNDER last 7 games and 7-1 UNDER last road affairs. Plus other trending that points the same way for each squad. All 3 models have this one finishing in the high 120's and good enough to play 3*UNDER at your best number down to 132.5.
