NFL | L.A. CHARGERS @ KANSAS CITY | 09/15 | 8:15 PM EDT
L.A. CHARGERS +4
ANALYSIS: As strong as the Chiefs' win was against the Cardinals, one can’t discount the consistency of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert in the division. In his two years the Chargers have been in contention in divisional games, and all non-overtime divisional losses have been by five points or fewer. Additionally, his two losses to the Chiefs both came in overtime. Take the Chargers.

NFL | L.A. CHARGERS @ KANSAS CITY | 09/15 | 8:15 PM EDT
KANSAS CITY -189
ANALYSIS: I'm starting to see this tick up at some books because I'm guessing the Keenan Allen injury and bettors starting to hammer the Chiefs so let's just do this now before the moneyline gets over -200. I look forward to my first Amazon Prime NFL game and, you know, buying dog treats for Snoopy while Patrick Mahomes is throwing a TD pass.

NFL | L.A. CHARGERS @ KANSAS CITY | 09/15 | 8:15 PM EDT
KANSAS CITY -3.5
ANALYSIS: It's no wonder this game moved up a half-point from the lookahead number of 3 after the Chiefs obliterated the Cardinals and the Chargers survived with a close win over the Raiders. I'm very much a fan of this Chargers team long-term and believe they could win the division, but the Chiefs offense made an emphatic statement on Sunday that we should consider them a top-two NFL team until someone slows them down. The odds the Chargers can keep up in a shootout get much longer should Keenan Allen (hamstring) get ruled out, something I think will happen. I make this line Chiefs -6 without Allen, so I expect there to be movement if he's unavailable.

MLB | CHI. WHITE SOX @ CLEVELAND | 09/15 | 1:10 PM EDT
CLEVELAND +135
ANALYSIS: There’s just no reason the White Sox should be favored this heavily in this situation. The Guardians have now won six games in a row and the White Sox had to travel yesterday and now play a day game today while the Guardians stayed at home. Hunter Gaddis struggled in his Major League debut but that is understandable especially considering it was against the Astros. Lance Lynn has been much better lately and against the Guardians this season, but the Guardians still have the best bullpen in the league in the last 30 days behind Gaddis. This is a make-up game, so the White Sox are flying right out of town after this game again and going to Detroit. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re flat today. I like the value on the Guardians at home.

MLB | KANSAS CITY @ MINNESOTA | 09/15 | 7:40 PM EDT
MINNESOTA -1.5
ANALYSIS: Minnesota has beaten Kansas City six straight times by a combined score of 34-8. I like the Twins to keep that up Thursday at home, where they are 42-32. This is the fifth time the Twins will see Daniel Lynch this season. The lefty enters in poor form, having allowed 17 earned runs in his last four starts covering 18.1 innings. Play Minnesota -1.5 runs at +115.

MLB | TAMPA BAY @ TORONTO | 09/15 | 3:07 PM EDT
TORONTO -135
ANALYSIS: I don't normally recommend fading Rays ace Shane McClanahan but this will be his first start off the IL due to a shoulder issue so there's probably no way he goes more than five innings -- if even that many. Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman tends to dominate one start and struggle the next but has a 1.59 ERA in 17 innings this year against Tampa Bay, which has lost five of six and is seven games below .500 on the road.

MLB | OAKLAND @ HOUSTON | 09/15 | 7:20 PM EDT
HOUSTON -1.5
ANALYSIS: Lance McCullers Jr. has been excellent since his return from the IL, going 3-1 with a 2.20 ERA. He made his first start of the season against the A's last month and pitched six shutout innings. Even if McCullers doesn't get very deep in the game, he'll be backed by the best bullpen in the league. On the other hand, James Kaprielian is 3-9 and has recorded a loss in four of his last five starts, in which he's recorded a 6.56 ERA and 1.90 WHIP. Kaprielian rarely pitches more than five innings, leaving a lot of time for the A's struggling bullpen. The Astros are on a four game win streak and have won 12 of their last 15 games. Meanwhile, the A's are 3-10 in their last 13. Back the Astros on the run line at -142.

MLB | PHILADELPHIA @ MIAMI | 09/15 | 6:40 PM EDT
PHILADELPHIA -130
ANALYSIS: This is one of those where I'd probably take the Marlins RL if it was around the same price as Phillies ML, but it's 25 cents more expensive. I don't trust Noah Syndergaard all that much for the Phils and no Rhys Hoskins as expected after he was plunked on Wednesday ... but only -130? I pondered Under 7.5 runs with Hoskins out and the Marlins being the Marlins, but Miami pitcher Pablo Lopez has a 5.01 ERA at home.

UNDER 54
ANALYSIS: The total inched 1.5 points higher after the Chiefs’ opener generated 65 points. It takes two to tango, however, and the Chargers’ defense was beastly while holding Las Vegas in the teens. Pass rusher supreme Khalil Mack, who introduced himself to L.A., with three sacks, could hassle QB Patrick Mahomes. A potential wrench in the K.C. scoring machine is an injury to kicker Harrison Butker, who is out. The Chargers’ offense will miss ailing KR Keenan Allen.
