N.Y. GIANTS +3
ANALYSIS: With an injury to starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and Washington coming off of a short week to work with the starters, I have serious concerns about Taylor Heinicke's potential effectiveness against a very good and opportunistic Giants defense. On the other side of the ball the Giants found some offensive success against a solid Broncos defense. Look for a rebound game for New York and Daniel Jones, who is a perfect 4-0 against Washington.

L.A. ANGELS @ CHI. WHITE SOX | 09/16 | 2:10 PM EDT
L.A. ANGELS +1.5
ANALYSIS: The White Sox are sitting Yoan Moncada and Yasmani Grandal, so their lineup from spots 5-9 is pretty weak. Sox pitcher Reynaldo Lopez has been pretty good but his history says he's not trustworthy. Excellent White Sox setup man Michael Kopech won't be available after pitching two innings on Wednesday. The Halos are activating Alex Cobb off the injured list and he has been very solid at 7-3 with a 3.82 ERA. Cobb had a quality start vs. Chicago very early in the season.
OAKLAND @ KANSAS CITY | 09/16 | 2:10 PM EDT
KANSAS CITY +1.5
ANALYSIS: Still irked the Royals came up one run short of a RL cover last night with the bases loaded and none out in the bottom of the ninth. That's just how my day went. Ah well. We'll go back to the RL as Oakland remains without slugger Matt Chapman again and starts Paul Blackburn, who is 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA in two road starts. Meanwhile, in four home starts vs. teams not named the White Sox, Royals left Daniel Lynch is 2-0 with a 2.59 ERA. KC is 4-1 in its past five after a loss.

OAKLAND @ KANSAS CITY | 09/16 | 2:10 PM EDT
KANSAS CITY +105
ANALYSIS: The Athletics bullpen has been a serious liability as of late, blowing the first game of this series and almost blowing the second game of the series last night. They have Paul Blackburn starting and he has been hit hard and knocked out of the game early in each of his last two outings, meaning the bullpen is most likely to pitch a majority of the game. Daniel Lynch has been solid as of late and the Athletics don’t hit lefties too well. Take the value in the home dog.
SAN DIEGO @ SAN FRANCISCO | 09/16 | 3:45 PM EDT
SAN FRANCISCO -180
ANALYSIS: The Giants continue to be undervalued despite their loss last night. They ended their 9 game winning streak but they are still 9-1 in their last 10 games up only 1.5 games in the division. The Padres have lost 5 of 6 and they are 31-39 on the road this season. Kevin Gausman has been dominant for the Giants and the Padres will either be going with a bullpen game, or bringing in Ryan Weathers after an opener. Weathers has been terrible this season and the Padres bullpen is worked, take the Giants at home.

CHI. CUBS @ PHILADELPHIA | 09/16 | 6:05 PM EDT
PHILADELPHIA -153
ANALYSIS: I don't see a ton of value on the Cubs at -145 on the RL, so let's take a risk on the unpredictable Phillies. They are using a bullpen game, which probably isn't a good thing if you know about their relievers this year. Cam Bedrosian has been pretty solid, though, since coming over from Oakland and will open the game. Philadelphia is starting its ideal lineup against Kyle Hendricks, who can be great at times but also has had a few terrible outings in his past handful. The Phils have been better against right-handers.
OHIO @ LOUISIANA | 09/16 | 8:00 PM EDT
OHIO +20.5
ANALYSIS: Been sitting here waiting for this to get to 20.5, so now let's jump. This spread seems too high overall. The Bobcats haven't looked good yet with longtime offensive coordinator Tim Albin taking over the head coaching reins but are expected to contend in the MAC. Louisiana was dominated Week 1 at Texas (which doesn't look so great now) and barely escaped last week vs. FCS school Nicholls. The Bobcats are 8-0 ATS in their past eight Thursday games and 13-3 ATS in their past 16 vs. dogs. The Cajuns are 3-9 in their past 12 as favorites. They are likely to be without two key players in WR Errol Rogers and LB Ferrod Gardner.

OHIO @ LOUISIANA | 09/16 | 8:00 PM EDT
OHIO +20
ANALYSIS: This is just too many points to ignore between teams that have awfully similar resumes. Ohio and ULL both lost to Power Five programs in Week 1 before struggling against FCS opponents in Week 2. Ohio fell 28-26 to Duquesne, while the Cajuns slipped past Nicholls 27-24 despite allowing 511 yards of offense to the FCS club. The Bobcats appear slow to respond to first-year coach Tim Albin, the longtime offensive coordinator who took over for Frank Solich. But the Bobcats, who were projected to compete for the MAC title, still have too much roster talent to be given this big of a spot against a similarly underachieving ULL club.

N.Y. GIANTS @ WASHINGTON | 09/16 | 8:20 PM EDT
N.Y. GIANTS +3.5
ANALYSIS: Let me introduce you to The NFC Least Principle. It's simple and easy to follow. Nobody in the NFC East is good enough to be favored against anybody else within the division, so we just bet the underdog whenever they square off. It went 11-1 last season, and it should get off to a 1-0 start this week as we look to fade the team that's favored despite starting Taylor Heinicke.
OHIO @ LOUISIANA | 09/16 | 8:00 PM EDT
OHIO +19.5
ANALYSIS: Neither one of these teams has gotten off to a strong start to the season, but even if the Bobcats are 0-2 and just lost to Duquesne, I've seen less from them to be concerned about than Louisiana. The Cajuns are a team built on running the ball and are averaging 2.8 yards per carry. Ohio's offense has shown explosiveness, and that's why they should be able to hang within the number tonight.

N.Y. GIANTS @ WASHINGTON | 09/16 | 8:20 PM EDT
N.Y. GIANTS +3.5
ANALYSIS: Daniel Jones is 4-0 with a 100 passer rating against Washington. He and Kenny Golladay should have better chemistry in Week 2. I like the divisional dog catching more than a field goal here. Taylor Heinecke is a terrific backup, but the Washington offense takes a bit of a hit without Ryan FItzpatrick's aggressive passing. Grab the points.

N.Y. GIANTS @ WASHINGTON | 09/16 | 8:20 PM EDT
N.Y. GIANTS +3.5
ANALYSIS: The underdog carries appeal when an offensively challenged opponent is spotting it more than a field goal. Washington carved out just 259 yards and one touchdown in its season opener while QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (hip) was injured in the first half. Taylor Heinicke, whose 38.2 passer rating was dreadful in relief, steps in against New York. He has thrown just as many interceptions (three) as touchdowns in nine career appearances. Meanwhile, WR Curtis Samuel (groin) remains on injured reserve. The Giants were equally impotent on offense in Week 1, but RB Saquon Barkley (10 carries, 26 yards) figures to be more productive after a length injury layoff. Visiting teams went 11-8 straight up on Thursday Night Football last season, debunking the notion of a short-week penalty for traveling clubs.
