ANALYSIS: One of the biggest comeback victories of the season occurred in last night’s Diamondbacks-Phillies matchup. Arizona was able to erase a 7-0 deficit to come back and win 13-7. The victory marked the fourth straight for the Diamondbacks, but expect the Phillies to respond from Monday’s embarrassing letdown. They are the only team to force Zac Gallen to exit before the third inning this season, as he lasted just 1.2 innings in a disastrous outing on June 10th. Take the Phillies.

ANALYSIS: The Dodgers continue their road trip with a new series against the Mets. New York should clearly be the fresher team after having Monday off and the Dodgers having played in an extra inning game against the Marlins. Although Taijuan Walker is not pitching to his usual standards, he can manage through five innings before the Mets bullpen takes over. In a bullpen game I’ll side with the Mets in the series opener to defeat the Dodgers.

ANALYSIS: Only -135 on the Mets runline at home? Have to do it. The Dodgers had to play Monday and fly up from Miami -- they also used a ton of relievers in the extra-inning win, including closer Craig Kimbrel for 32 pitches so he may not be available. The Mets were off Monday. I also trust New York's Taijuan Walker over LA lefty Andrew Heaney from a starting pitching standpoint. The Mets have won nine of their past 13 vs. southpaws.

On Tuesday, the Diamondbacks have their best starter on the mound with Zac Gallen, who has posted a 2.73 ERA. They are 15-9 in his starts. The Phillies have seen Aaron Nola lose two of his last three starts. Gallen hasn’t allowed a run in his last four starts. Take Arizona to win.

ANALYSIS: Cal Quantrill has been on a roll lately, he is 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA in August and he didn’t allow a run in three of his five starts. Spenser Watkins has been pitching very well this season, but he has struggled a bit more in August going 1-3 with a 3.81 ERA. He’s not much of a strikeout pitcher and the Guardians rarely strikeout, so its not a great matchup for Watkins. The Guardians have the best bullpen in the league since the trade deadline while the Orioles are ranked 17th. The Guardians won two of three games in Baltimore earlier this season and they are letting the Twins get dangerously close in that division race. I like the Guardians at home.
