49ers at Bolts Preview

The San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers will wrap up their 2009 preseason schedule Qualcomm Stadium on Friday night at 10:00PM ET.

Bet 49ers at Chargers

The 49ers came from behind to beat the Cowboys 20-13 last week and cover the spread as 6.5-point underdogs. San Fran scored 17 second half points as the under covered.

The Chargers were beaten by the Falcons on a last second touchdown by backup quarterback Chris Redman. San Diego was a 3-point under dog, so the game was a push, while the 51 points went over the posted total of 42.5.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Chargers 4-point home favorites over the 49ers on Friday might, while the over/under total has been set at 37.

The Chargers won’t risk playing their starters, so don’t expect to see Philip Rivers, LaDainian Tomlinson or Shawne Merriman play much against the 49ers, if at all. Expect San Fran to use a heavy dose of back up running back Glen Coffee, who has been impressive thus far in preseason.

Boys at Vikings Preview

The Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings will square off at the Metrodome at 8:00PM ET on Friday in both team’s preseason finales.

Bet Cowboys at Vikings

The Cowboys are coming off a 20-13 loss to the 49ers as 6.5-point home favorites. The 33 points went under the posted total of 38.

The Vikings defeated the Texans 17-10 on Monday night as running back Adrian Peterson churned out 117 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown. The Vikings easily covered the 2.5-point spread as road underdogs, while the 27 points fell under the posted total of 41.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have made the Vikings 3-point home favorites over the Cowboys on Friday might, while the over/under total has been set at 36.

Don’t expect Peterson, Brett Favre, Tony Romo or the rest of the Cowboys or Vikings’ starters to play longer than a series or two, if at all. That said, the fourth and final preseason game is usually the hardest to handicap given its unpredictably.

Texans at Bucs Preview

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Houston Texans on Friday night at 7:00PM ET in both team’s preseason finale.

Bet Texans at Buccaneers

The Texans will play their second game in less than six days after the Vikings defeated Houston 17-10 on Monday night. Quarterback Matt Schaub did throw for 108 yards on 10-of-14 passing, although he also threw an interception.

The Bucs played an uninspiring game against the Dolphins last week, losing 10-6 in a pick’em. The game’s 16 points fell under the posted total of 37.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Texans 3-point underdogs against the Bucs on Friday night. The over/under total has been set at 34.

After being handed the starting quarterback job after Tampa’s third preseason game, Byron Leftwich probably won’t play much against the Texans on Friday night and Schaub most certainly won’t see more than a series or two. That said, this game will be tough to handicap given its unpredictability.

Betting Trends:

TAMPA BAY is 2-0 against the spread versus HOUSTON over the last 3 seasons

TAMPA BAY is 2-0 straight up against HOUSTON over the last 3 seasons
