Friday Night Football: Oklahoma State vs. LA-Lafayette Week 6 Pick
By Anthony Rome

Oklahoma State will put its undefeated record and top 25 status on the line tonight when they travel to Cajun Field to take on LA-Lafayette at 9:00PM ET. Read on for our free pick for tonight’s game.

Bet Oklahoma State vs. LA-Lafayette

Before we get to our free pick for this Week 6 matchup, let’s check out the odds.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Oklahoma State a 23.5-point favorite for tonight’s game against LA-Lafayette. The over/under is currently 62 points.

Oklahoma State has been a dream for bettors this season, covering in three of their first four games. They’re coming off a 38-35 win over Texas A&M last week, where they covered as a 2.5-point favorite.

If their inconsistency is any indication, this is the week where LA-Lafayette shouldn’t cover. The Rajin’ Cajuns have covered every other week, including last Saturday when they beat North Texas as a 5-point underdog.

It’s tempting to take LA-Lafayette in this game. They’re getting 23.5 points at home and this will be the first time all season that Oklahoma State must travel. The Cowboys are also coming off an emotional win against Texas A&M, so they’re due for a letdown.

That said, my pick here is still OK State. I would feel more comfortable taking the Cajuns if they put up any kind of a fight against Georgia in Week 1, which was their toughest game to date. But they’re 1-4 against the spread in their last five games as a home underdog of 10.5 points or greater and 1-4 ATS versus a tem with a winning record. They’re also 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight up win.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are 6-1-1 against the number in their last eight October games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games as a road favorite. They’re also 5-1 ATS in their last six games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.

There’s a good chance OK State will be slow out of the gates tonight, but it shouldn’t have a problem scoring points against an inferior LA-Lafayette team and should open things up in the second half. My pick is the Cowboys laying the points.
