Giants at Eagles – Who Do The Experts Pick
Two NFC East rivals square off at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday when the Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Giants at 1:00PM ET.
The Giants lost their second straight game last week, as the Cardinals defeated Eli Manning and company 24-17 on Sunday Night Football. Manning threw for 243 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions, while Brandon Jacobs rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. New York failed to cover as 8-point home favorites.
The Eagles beat the Redskins 27-17 on Monday Night Football as 9-point favorites. Donovan McNabb threw for 156 yards and a touchdown on 15-of-25 passing in the victory.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Giants 1-point road favorites over the Eagles on Sunday. The over/under total for this game has been set at 44 points.
Last week we wrote how the Giants wouldn’t lose back-to-back games and that’s exactly what they did. We were surprised to see them lose to the Cardinals, although not totally shocked based on how many injuries New York has been dealing with.
That said, the G-Men will likely have Michael Boley and Chris Canty back in action this Sunday, which is huge for their defense. Despite scoring 27 points on Monday night in Washington, the Eagles had trouble moving the ball consistency on offense, which leads us to believe they’ll have similar issues against a good Giants defense.
With that in mind, however, Manning can’t turn the ball over like he did last week against the Cardinals because the Eagles will feast on turnovers. Philadelphia leads the league in turnover margin, so New York will have to play a perfect game.
We like the G-Men to get a huge road win in Philadelphia as they attempt to get back on track. Again though, Manning has to play flawless and not turn the ball over or else the Eagles will have easy scoring opportunities. New York has to make Philadelphia drive the length of the field as much as possible.
