Coaches:
Coughlin 4-8 last 3 years, 1-3 last year. 4 overs last year.
Ryan 2-2 last year. Note 2 losses were by 1 and 3 points. 3-1 over.
Last 4 meetings in pre-season: 2006 Giants 13-7, 2007 Jets 20-12, 2008 Jets 10-7, and 2009 Jets 27-25.
Line movement: game opened at a pick and has moved to Jets-2.5, the total has moved from 32.5 to 33.5
Coughlin- 3 of last 4 games have went under the total between these two.
In Ryan's first pre-season against the Giants, the defense gave up 25 points and won by 2.
Differences- These two are meeting in the first week, they met in the third week the last three years, which is usually the dress rehearsal game. New stadium, with the Jets as the home team.
Interesting quote:
"Well this is the New Meadowlands Stadium, and the Jets are the home team," center Shaun O'Hara said. "If we want to put something on it, if they want to bet something on the line, then I'm sure we'll be willing to pony up."
There has been some trash talk, but it seems more of a media thing to entice the public for Monday Night. The 1 and 3 point losses by Ryan last year show that his team was competitive in all 4 games.
Quarterback rotation:
Giants- Manning 1 qtr at most, Sorgi 2 quarters, Bomar-mop up
Jets-Sanchez into the 2nd qtr, Clemens, Ainge, O'Connell
Ryan said he plans to play the starters into the 2nd quarter.
This is one of those games that neither team wants to lose to break in their new stadium. If Ryan plays his starters longer, he is probably looking to make sure they win the game. The line move could bite a few bettor's, but the Jets look like the right side here and the over 33.5
The over sailed through easy, luckily bet the first half Jets-2 and over 17 to squeeze some profit out of this game.
