Heart of Dallas Bowl Washington vs. Southern Miss Picks & Predictions

One of the best bets in college football this season has been Southern Miss, which takes on Washington in the Heart of Dallas Bowl at 2:20PM ET today.
The Golden Eagles finished their regular season with a 9-4 record and went 10-3 against the spread, making them one of the more profitable teams in college football at the betting window. They're also led by quarterback Nick Mullens, who was the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year while completing 63.4 percent of his passes for 4,145 yards with 36 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions.
But Mullens and the Southern Miss offense struggled in the Conference USA championship game against Western Kentucky. Mullens threw for only 181 yards as the WKU torched Southern Miss, 45-28. The Golden Eagles averaged 40.6 points per game this season, but assuming Washington is motivated today, this game could wind up going a lot like that Conference USA title game a few weeks back.
The Huskies owned the best defense in the Pac-12 this season, limiting opponents to just 17.8 points per game. Their offense also went out on a high note, scoring 52 points against Oregon State in a 52-7 blowout, and then 45 points in a 45-10 thrashing of Washington State in the Apple Cup.
