Temple vs. Kent State
Well What can one say about these two teams..? Where do we start.?. Ok, look it; this season has been up and down for everyone Im sure...
Take the last two meetings between these two.
Kent State Averaged 36 attempts on the ground, for a cheesy 38 yard average. While Temple averaged 40 attempts on the ground for a little more than 105 yards. Not much production on the ground for either team. Kent State averaged 13 Pass attempts for 140 yards in the air, while Temple averaged 16 attempts for a little better than 165 yards through the air. Having said all that Kent State had roughly a 1 point edge on average not quite an explosive couple of games... I didnt think so either. 😛
Now compared to this season neither team has done that much improving, although 75% ATS this season for Temple is a pretty impressive number, while 17% ATS this season for Kent State not very pretty considering there schedules are safely considered "cupcakes"... with the minor exception in Temple playing Penn State, and Kent State playing Boston College.
The big stat that stands out is the 120+yards more on the ground Kent State is getting that Temple is not.. (Ball Control = Time Of Posetion) The winner of each of the last two meetings had the ball for more than 35 minutes.
Records dont reflect the fact that Kent State has an edge in the 1st downs, T.O.P, and Y.P.R.
Bottom line I like Kent State +2.5
Barring any big surprise down field pass... afterall Kent is giving up over 200 yards passing, Kent State should win this one.
