my buddy just called me and told me he reversed the charges on his debit card from his sportsbook. He simply told his bank the charges were fraud. I usually dont condone this type of activity but becuase Vegas should not have cashed in on that ticket I wouldnt think twice of doing the same, luckily I didnt touch the game.

No Offense but that's a dumb thing to do and will get you flagged at most books, people just need to rack it up to being a bad beat and move on.

uh, the final score was 11-10. Why, pray tell, shouldn't have Vegas cashed that ticket? Remember I had Pittsburgh. Reversing charges and calling it fraud will stop all activity at that book most likely and many others too. Your friend lost his bet, it isn't even close to being fraud.

"What game? What bet? I don't know what your saying as I recall no events from Sunday afternoon at 7:18 PM ET. What refs? What scandal? It never happened, never. And, forget about that giant pink elephant in the living room, there is nothing there."

Quote directly taken from the NFL.

;D

CLASSIC! And to those who would be afraid of getting shut down from their books if you reverse your charges?? Are you serious, who cares?? there are a ton of sportsbooks online.

Very, very ignorant to do this. You not only hurt yourself because when you do this you are the one who is committing the fraud but you are also hurting other bettors, the sports books themselves and in the end guys like me who own a sports gambling related site.

If you can't stand the swings you should get out of the game. To me there is nothing worse then a guy who loses and stiffs.

Real scumbag move on your buddies part.

Yeah like i said before i usually dont condone this, I have heard stories of people reversing chragebacks in the thousands years ago and all that happened is some guy named "Tony" would call them threatenting legal action, and of course nothing happened but inthis instance with how that Steelers game turned out (which might have been fixed, we still don't know that, the NFL is acting very shady) I could understand someone anger in doing it.

It's never something that should be condoned. It's dishonest and it hurts others you may not even intend to hurt by doing this.

Beyond that, it's not the books fault. The beef is with the NFL, not the place accepting the bet. And if it was reversed and the book didn't pay your buddy would be crying at the top of his lungs that the book is crooked and all kinda shit.

This is not right and it disgusts me when I hear about it happening.

It's hard enough to get down online as it is without fucktards like your buddy making it worse for the rest of us.

yea i totally understand your point, some people arent cut out for this line, they can't handle the swings, its sort of like no limit poker but you can't ignore it does exisit and books lose out on millions most likely every year. I just thought since the game was such a screw up I would understand others wanting a little payback even at the expense of a book.

I agree, it's not the sportsbooks fault, the blame is on the NFL totally. However, I do not feel sorry for huge corporate conglomerates including sportsbooks, utility companies, etc. They make millions off common folk every day, and unless you own a sportsbook, I don't see how it can bother you if a measly $100 bet is reversed by a customer who feels cheated out of his hard earned dough. I don't think it will hurt the books in any shape or form, or it's affiliates.

Which comes to my next point. Just because your an affiliate of a sportsbook, does not make you a part of their organization. The 15-25% lifetime cut of a referrals losses is hardly a chip in the wood to the hundreds of thousands they make off your referral. They use you and further if you operate inside of the US you are subject to legal action, especially once they start to crack down on entities who partner and display sportsbook ads/banners and promote online illegal gambling. I have several relatives who are attorneys that are aware of a new legislature that could pass and could hit you up with felonies just for promoting online gambling. Obama is strongly against gambling as he feels it tears at the moral fabric of minority communities. So, you may want to rethink your business model if your living off referall funds related to sportsbooks, because you could be risking your freedom over the next few years.

So, needless to say, I wouldn't be too proud for partnering with a sportsbook. The only way I would defend a sportsbook is if I owned one and lived in a foreign country where it's legal. Thats like saying you feel sorry for the cable company if one of your friends is ripping free cable for himself or that you feel bad for McDonalds if someone gets an extra french fry in their bag.

Anyway, thats my rant. It's time to move on, it's a loss, period. Suck it up and move on!

thats what i was trying to say but just not so detailed as to hurt the makers of this site. I don't feel sorry for the books who by the way use "unethical" business practices from time to time.

Have you ever been delayed with a payout becuase the processor was down??? Hmmmm, you get my point but if you can't handle the loss then gambling isn't your forte. And the above poster is right, OBAMA is HUGELY against gambling so this industry is in for a rude awakening.

What a piece of work .. Thats a nice way of putting it. If your dumb ass buddy had went the other way and won he would have laughed all the way to the bank. I lost on that game too , so what you bet you loose its part of adult life. Oh yea the part about reversing the charges and getting calls , well it had to be a small bet because if it were a real bet and the call was made the next noise heard would have been a knock. Then he would have been glad to pay up. Get some real friends with balls or go play a board game. Maybe buy him some jacks for Christmas so he can play with himself.

Look, I am not trying to hurt anyone or anybody on this site. Cash has a great thing going here and I do agree with him that it's on the NFL for the incidents that occurred on the field. Further, I don't agree with trying to get your money back from a bet lost when it was the NFL's fault, clearly. I can't stand it when someone stiffs me, whether it's a bookie or a sportsbook and it has happened with both, and it sux.

As far as online gambling is concerned, I just hope that we can still place bets online once all this stuff comes to head in congress. I hate betting with a bookie, even though I do so from time to time. So, I appreciate the sportsbooks in that regards to letting us get down online. However, I don't feel sorry for them if they lose a little money now and then considering they are racking up on the public bet. Hell, I try to put dents in them every single week and I did this past week despite the Steelers debacle 😉

We need to just drop the whole subject and focus on this weeks NFL and College Football games, period! Moving on now....

bro, you watch too many Sopranos episodes, they dont roll like that anymore, with Congress neck-deep in it, even the dumbest street bookies would know better then to touch a square guy, now if one of his cronies tried to stiff that is a different story but not a "joe the plumber" type plus what are offfshore books going to do? Fly some muscle head over from Costa Rica to break your finger over a few grand???????? ???
