Indiana at Michigan Betting Preview
A 3-0 start has been a pleasant surprise for No. 23 Michigan, but the Wolverines must now establish themselves in the Big Ten Conference, which starts Saturday at Noon ET when they host Indiana from Michigan Stadium.
The Wolverines have won all three games at home this season, most notably, 38-34 over Notre Dame in week two. Last week, the Wolverines topped Eastern Michigan 45-17 behind 380 yards rushing as a team. Carlos Brown had 187 of those yards with two touchdowns, as he took the majority of the carries for Brandon Minor who is battling an ankle injury. Denard Robinson also had a pair of touchdown runs for the Wolverines, as Rich Rodriguez continues to mix Robinson in at quarterback with Tate Forcier, who has thrown for 487 yards and five touchdowns so far this season. Forcier also joins Brown, Robinson, and Minor with at least 100 yards rushing on the year.
The Wolverines face an unbeaten Indiana team that is looking for its first 4-0 start since 1990 under third-year coach Bill Lynch. Narrow wins over Eastern Kentucky and Western Michigan were followed by a 38-21 win over Akron last weekend. Indiana quarterback Ben Chappell has throw for 674 yards on 63-of-92 passing with three touchdowns and three interceptions thus far while DeMetrius McCray has 228 yards rushing on the ground. Tandon Doss has caught 21 passes for 270 yards to lead the Hoosier receiving corp. Ray Fisher has been a threat at kick returner, already taking back a 91-yard return for a score, while defensively, Austin Thomas has two interceptions for Indiana.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made Michigan 21-point home favorites over Indiana on Saturday afternoon. The over/under total for this game has been established at 54.
