Mississippi vs. Mississippi State 2009 Week 13 CFB Picks & Predictions

No. 20 Mississippi looks to build on its win over LSU last week when the Rebels take on rival Mississippi State at 12:21PM ET on Saturday from Davis Wade Stadium.

Bet Mississippi at Mississippi State

Ole Miss is 8-3 in 2009 and 5-4 against the spread. The Rebels have won three straight games, but two of their three losses have come on the road. The Rebels have won five of the last seven meetings with the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State is 4-7 this season and 5-5 against the spread. The Bulldogs have lost and failed to cover in their last two games and have only one win at home this season, which came against Jackson State.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made Ole Miss 8-point road favorites over Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon. The over/under total for this game has been established at 47.5.

The Rebels are scoring 30.5 points per-game thanks to a strong rushing attack with Dexter McCluster who has rushed for 903 yards and six scores. Jevan Snead has been underwhelming at quarterback, but still has thrown for 2,189 yards and 17 touchdowns this season. Mississippi State is giving up 26.7 points per-game, but only allowing 364 yards of offense per-contest.

The Bulldogs are scoring 24.2 points per-game and depending heavily on the run. Anthony Dixon has rushed for 1,258 yards and 11 touchdowns, but quarterback Tyson Lee has thrown for just 1,392 yards with four touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Ole Miss is holding teams to 16.5 points and 310.9 yards per-game this season.

Mississippi seems to be the pick in this game as the Rebels have small odds to cover, but clearly have the better team. In order for the Bulldogs to cover or win, they have to get out to an early lead, as Lee will not be able to lead them on a come-from-behind win. Look for Snead to play well and move the Rebels down the field along with McCluster for a sizeable win over the Bulldogs. We suggest a pick of Ole Miss minus the points with the over.

Our College Football Week 13 Free Pick for this matchup is: MISSISSIPPI -8 and OVER 47.5.

Ole Miss is the sucker bet, I am from MS and MSU got embarrassed last year and has more heart than Ole Miss. Dixon's last game he will go out with a bang! If they slow down McCluster, they might win outright!
I think State covers today!
