200♦ Philadelphia Eagles

Not a huge fan of laying a growing double digit spread tonight, but given the situation we don’t have much of a choice today. You see for Cleveland they suck and are only getting worst with the pending firing of their head coach and the fact they are down to their third string quarterback. Meanwhile, for the Eagles their playoff hope is still alive and burning as they need to win out for any chance at the post season. Well thanks to the Eagles playing at home and doing so playing their best football of the season by winning and covering their last two games, including a 28 point win against Arizona in their last home game I see nothing but a blowout tonight. After all with the Eagles already having five double digit wins this season it’s easy to except another one tonight. Flat out, the Eagles are in need for a huge win and thanks to playing at home against the Browns I say Philadelphia gets a big win as they roll by at least three touchdowns. So in a laugher take the Eagles minus the points.

100♦ Boston Celtics

Meanwhile, in the NBA I have less of a problem laying a big number in Boston as I see the Celtics crushing the Jazz tonight. After all given that Boston is 22-2 straight up on the season and having covered 5 of their last 6 games I say there is no going wrong in laying the points tonight. Not when the Jazz without Boozer won’t stand much of a chance on the road against the best team in the Eastern Conference as Utah is a losing 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against an east coast team. Flat out, the Celtics are great at home and they will continue to be with a double digit blowout tonight. Take Boston minus the points as they continue to build on their franchise best record to open the season.

Cleveland/Philadelphia Under 40 (3 Unit Play)

Betting the Monday Night Under this year has really been a death sentence but I don't think you can go just on that trend to make your pick and you need to handicap the game separately. Cleveland comes in playing out the string on a very disappointing season and they are down to their third string QB in Ken Dorsey and I just don't see him moving the ball down the field on the Eagles defense in this one. The early weather forecast for tonight is some rain with winds around 13 MPH so it is not very bad as far as that goes. The one problem that the Browns do have tonight along with their QB issues is that the defensive line for the team is decimated by injuries. Their are 5 DT's or DE's listed as questionable for this evening's game and if these players can't play Brian Westbrook should have a field day against them. This should normally work in the Under's favor as Philadelphia should be content to gain 5-6 yards a carry and grind out the clock which is what I think they will do here. I see the Eagles wanting to get this game in hand early here and then coast as they have two divisional games on deck and can't afford a loss here. This is certainly not going to be a fun game to watch unless you are an Eagle fan in my opinion but I think these teams will stay Under the posted total of 40 here tonight.
