Monday's Plays:

15 Dime –

COWBOYS (Buy the ½ point if your line is -10 ½)
Lay the big number with Dallas tonight when they travel to take on Buffalo.
Normally an impost like this would make me think twice about siding with the road chalk, but I’m not even considering it with the state the Buffalo Bills are in right now.
Injuries have taken an already weak team and depleted them even further. Now they have to play this game with the mindset that they have to outscore Dallas to have a chance to win the game, something they were ill-equipped to do when they were healthy.
The Cowboys are scoring at a record pace. Their 151 points are 22 more than the NFL record-holding 1998 Minnesota Vikings had at the same point.
Quarterback Tony Romo has thrown for 11 TD passes and already has three 300-yard games.
Meanwhile, the Dallas defense has been getting better each game, giving up fewer touchdowns each week. Their last two opponents have scored a total of 17 points.
I don’t see Buffalo quarterback Trent Edwards trading scores with Romo here, and I don’t see the Bills defense stepping it up to contain the Dallas attack.
Lay the points with the Cowboys and remember to buy the ½ point if your line is -10 ½.

5 Dime –

YANKEES -1 ½ RUN LINE
Take the Yankees on the run line tonight over the Indians.
Whether it’s Chien-Ming Wang or Mike Mussina starting for the Yankees tonight it doesn’t matter. That’s because the Yankees are back in the Bronx and it’s here that their offense will carry them.
We saw that in their Game 3 win last night and we’re going to see it again tonight.
Paul Byrd will start for Cleveland and he’s just 1-4 with a 4.44 ERA in eight lifetime outings against the Yankees. He faced them one time this season, giving up seven hits and seven earned runs in just two innings in an 11-2 home loss on August 11. The right-hander finished the season 0-2 over his last three starts with a 7.00 ERA.
Not the kind of numbers you want going against New York in the Bronx.
Take the Yankees on the run line as they even the series tonight with a convincing win.

Monday Night Football
Bills +10 or better for a rare 7 units
Wait for this one the line will climb more in our favor
There is a powerfull system behind this play
that I will disclose and if was not a MNF game it would be a 10 unit play
GO AGAINST ANY NFL TEAM IF THEY SCORED 30 OR MORE POINTS
IN EACH OF THEIR LAST TWO GAMES AND ALLOWED 12 OR LESS POINTS
IN THOSE SAME TWO GAMES
IF THEY ARE NOW PLAYING A TEAM OUTSIDE OF THEIR DIVISION
This system is 15-0 since 1981

Goldsheet
Dallas 27 - BUFFALO 13--While Dallas' OL is big & healthy and Cowboys defense has welcomed back CB Terence Newman & LB Greg Ellis, Buffalo is thin in the OL, ripped with injuries on defense, and hoping that QB J.P. Losman will make a quick recovery from a sprained knee and perhaps be available (check status). Tony Romo (11 TDs, 3 ints.) "in a zone" right now, and Wade Phillips' defense becoming more aggressive. The latter is likely to be too much vs. Bills' rookie QB Trent Edwards (22 of 28, 1 TD, 1 int. in starting debut). CABLE TV--ESPN

Johnny Tailgate's Monday Night

Dallas --10 vs. Buffalo
Though this is going to be the only game of real importance for Buffalo this year Monday night, they just won’t have enough to keep up with the Cowboy’s offense. Local radio stations to ESPN television and radio shows are all calling this a “trap” game for Dallas since they are going up against a weak team and maybe looking ahead to New England next. Dallas isn’t the type of squad to let up on a beating. They are going to keep kicking even if their opponent throws in the towel. Buffalo should give a good effort in the first half but will run out of gas and spirit after they give up a couple of big play TD’s in the second. Even without Romo, Dallas is 4-0 ATS in their last four road games on Monday night and 7-1 in their last road games vs. non-divisional opponents.

Sports Gambling Hotline

Cleveland at NY Yankees (-190)

A NFL winner on the Steelers yesterday as we are now on a 43-25-1 comp play run!

Tonight we like the OVER in the Cleveland-Yankees contest.

Last night the New York bats semi-awakended from their post season slumber, as they plated 8 in their 8-4 victory.

We think the Yankees will continue to get their good cuts at the plate, as Paul Byrd is the type of a pitcher the Yankee bats will salivate over. Byrd was racked by the New York sticks back in the middle of August, allowing 7 runs in just 2 innings of work.

The Yanks will counter with Chien-Ming Wang who was hit hard in Game 1 on Wednesday night, and now Joe Torre will roll the dice and see if Wang's stuff works on 3-days rest.

This game has all the makings of a high-scoring affair, and we will play it over the total of 10 runs.

Go OVER in the Bronx tonight!

4♦ OVER

Bobby Maxwell

Cleveland (+180) at N.Y. YANKEES

We're 11-4-1 with our last 16 FREE plays overall and today we're in the Bronx with a complimentary play on the Indians as they will wrap up their series with the Yankees tonight.

Can't really understand why Cleveland is getting so much plus-money in this one. Did something magically change in the last four days? Chien-Ming Wang (19-7, 3.70 ERA) is back on the mound for the Yankees, going on three days rest against an Indians' lineup that knocked him around pretty good on Thursday.

Cleveland got to him for eight runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings in the 12-3 win in Cleveland Thursday.

Paul Byrd (15-8, 4.59 ERA) goes for the Indians and he's got plenty of experience against the Yankees. He's got a 4.44 ERA in 48 2/3 innings against New York in his eight career starts and in New York his ERA is 3.46 in two career outings.

This Cleveland offense battered Wang in Game 1 and should be able to get to him again tonight. Plus I don't think the Yankees' offensive woes are quite behind them yet. A three-run homer from Johnny Damon was the big blow Sunday and the Indians gave them another two runs on a misplay.

Gotta go grab all this plus-money and play the Indians in this one.

3♦ CLEVELAND

Drew Gordon

Cleveland (+180) at NY YANKEES

210-183-4 over my L397 Free Play releases, including 75-54 over my L129 baseball Freebies (3-0 Divisional series)!

We've all heard the media reports out of New York, beat the Indians or Torre is gone. Okay, thats all fine and good, but based on tonight's pitching match up... Torre better start packing his bags.

Guys, didn't we just watch Wang get knocked around for 8 runs on 9 hits over just 4 2/3 innings Thursday? Now you want him to do it on 3 days rest, for the first time in his career?! Sounds like the kiss of death of you ask me! We're talking about a Cleveland team that's 28-10 over their last 38 games, so underestimate them at your own risk!

He may not have great numbers against the Bombers, but Paul Byrd has been a rock for the Indians for most of the season. He's got a score to settle with this Yankees club, after they pounded him for 7 runs in a season-low 2 innings back on August 11th. His 3.46 career ERA in New York is solid, and facing Wang on 3 days rest provides just the match up the Indians and Byrd needs to walk away with the W.

Bottom line, the public and oddsmakers alike can ride their emotions all they want, while we ride the match ups and earn the plus money in this ALDS showdown. Yankees are flawed team, we've known about their pitching issues all year long... Tonight it comes back to bite them in the ass, plain and simple.

Take Cleveland behind Byrd over the NY Yankees in this ALDS match up.

2♦ CLEVELAND

Chuck Franklin

Cleveland at NY YANKEES (-190)

The Yankees are a clutch team, even with all the drama surrounding the lack of performance from A-Rod and Derek Jeter in this postseason, and even with Steinbrenner’s stupid and poorly timed comments about the status of Joe Torre’s career with the Yankees if they lose this series. They came out to win, and the Bronx Bombers have so much talent, so much history in Yankee Stadium, and so much respect and love for Torre that they overcame an early 3-0 lead by the Indians and pulled out last night’s 8-4 win in an exciting fashion. I expect more of the same tonight.

The Yankees are sending Chien-Ming Wang to the mound on only three days’ rest, but this doesn’t concern me at all. He is a top quality ace, and the fact that he got beat up by the Indians in the first game of this series will only serve to add more motivation to get the win at home tonight for this 19-game winner. The Indians are countering with Paul Byrd, who is 15-8 on the season with a pretty average ERA of 4.59. His worst start of the 2007 season was against these Yankees, and this will be on his mind while he attempts to block out the frenzied crowd in the Bronx. I expect him to get roughed up in New York tonight.

Karl Garrett

Dallas (-10) at BUFFALO

Tonight the G-Man is releasing a free total play on the OVER between Dallas and Buffalo.

Heck, there is a chance the Cowboys offense could take this game OVER the total by itself, but when you factor in the emotion of the Bills playing their first Monday night home game in 14 years, I think you can make a solid case for both teams putting points on the board, and this game going OVER the posted total.

Dallas is on a 15-8-2 OVER run their last 25 games, and they have not scored less than 34 points in any of their 4 wins this season.

Buffalo may be a little off that scoring pace offensively, but I remember the Dallas defense allowing the Giants to light up the scoreboard on that opening night primetime game back in early September.

Bottom line, is that there will be enough points on the scoreboard for these teams to combine for the easy OVER.

LT Profits

Edmonton Oilers (200)
Mon Oct 8 '07 7:35pm

The Edmonton Oilers are off to a 2-0 start, and they have given the Detroit Red Wings fits in recent years.

The Oilers have looked much better offensively in the early going than they did the entire second half of the season last year, as they have scored eight goals in their two games. Furthermore, their 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday came in front of backup goaltender Mathieu Garon, and their number one goalie Dwayne Roloson is expected back between the pipes tonight.

The Wings opened the season with an emotional 3-2 shootout win over the Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks, who eliminated Detroit in the Western Conference Finals last season. They then lost to the lowly Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in another shootout Saturday though, and they are now facing an Oilers team that has beaten them in seven of the last nine head-to-head meetings. Moreover, three of those Edmonton wins came right here in Motown.

All things considered, this is a generous price on the Oilers here.

THE SPORTS ADVISORS

NFL

Dallas (4-0 SU and ATS) at Buffalo (1-3 SU, 2-2 ATS)

The high-scoring Cowboys look to go 5-0 for the first time in 24 years when they travel to Buffalo for a nationally televised matchup with the banged-up Bills.
Dallas scored a 35-7 home win over the Rams a week ago, easily covering as 13-point favorites. The last time the Cowboys went on the road was Sept. 23 when they visited Chicago and scored a 34-10 win as three-point underdogs.
Buffalo snapped its five-game regular-season losing streak with last week’s 17-14 win over the Jets, pulling off the upset as 3½-point home underdogs. Rookie QB Trent Edwards got his first career start against the Jets, replacing the injured J.P. Losman, and he went 22-for-28 for 234 yards with his first career TD and an INT. Edwards will start again tonight.
Dallas is averaging an NFL-best 37.8 points a game, as opposed to Buffalo’s 10.2 points per game, and the Cowboys are on pace to break the NFL scoring record held by the 1998 Minnesota Vikings. Wade Phillips’ team has 22 more points than the Vikings had through four games in their record-breaking season.
Dallas QB Tony Romo has 11 TD passes against just three INTs, and he’s registered a trio of 300-yard games this season, giving him six in 12 career starts. The Cowboys’ defense gave up just 187 total yards last week and has allowed just 12.3 points and 253.3 yards per game in their last three efforts.
The Bills defense had been giving up 177.3 rushing yards per game before holding the Jets to just 60 yards on the ground. Overall, Buffalo is yielding 23.2 points and 430.2 yards per outing, including 282.2 yards in the air.
These two haven’t met since 2003 when the Cowboys won 10-6 as four-point favorites in Dallas. The last time they played in Buffalo was 1996 when the Bills scored a 10-7 win as seven-point underdogs.
Dallas is 6-2-1 ATS in its last nine October kickoffs, while the Bills are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
The under is 4-0 the last four times these two have met and 3-1 in Buffalo’s four games this season. Conversely, Dallas has gone over the posted number in three of four this season and nine of its last 13 on the road.

ATS ADVANTAGE: DALLAS
