ORLANDO MAGIC vs. LA CLIPPERS FREE PICK

The Magic (15-5) start their 5 game road trip tonight agaist the Clippers who are coming back home from their 5 game road trip. Dwight Howard had his 16th career 20-point, 20-rebound game with 21 points and a season-high 23 boards in his last game and he averaged 19.5 points, 15.0 rebounds when Magic sweep the Clippers in the 2007-08 season series. The Clippers (4-16) ended their four-game road trip and three-game losing streak with a 107-84 win over Minnesota on Saturday. It was the Clippers' largest margin of victory on the road since 2004. They are still struggling and new players such as Marcus Camby, point guard Baron Davis, and Zach Randolph, who is averaging 23.8 points and 9.6 rebounds in five starts since being acquired from New York are learning how to play together. Even though the Magic won their last game it was a lackluster performance and this team will bring much more energy in their first game of the 5 game road trip. The Clippers are coming back home and it wil be tough for a team that is already strugging to play with intensity on the 1st game home from their road trip.

TAKE ORLANDO-4 1/2

CAR -3.0 (-125) vs TAM

Today we have a crucial game for the lead in the NFC South, with the Panthers hosting the Bucs. A lot of people are saying that this is the most important game of the Panthers this season and I have to agree with them. After all, we have been watching an absolute domination of the home teams, especially on the NFC South, where the teams of this division are 6-0, 6-0, 5-1 and 5-1 at home this season. So, it seems evident how important the home factor is on the NFL and especially on this division right now. And that factor alone justifies immediately the 3 points spread we have in here for Carolina.

However, there is another edge for Carolina, which justifies this line to be a valuable bet for the Panthers. Take note that earlier this season, the Bucs completely destroyed the Panthers by 27-3 at home and so we have in front of an huge revenge game in here. So, I have to refer the following trend, which shows how important can the revenge factor be in here: Teams are 34-8 in the last 10 seasons, revenging a same season loss against an opponent, in a game involving teams two good teams (winning ratio from 60% to 75%).

The Bucs are coming to this game with 4 wins in a row. Their defense has been the key of this run, as the Bucs haven't been brilliant on the offense lately. Tampa defeated New Orleans at home by 23-20 on their last game, but if we look to the numbers of the Bucs, we can see that QB Jeff Garcia had 9/23 for 119 yards and 1 TD. We are talking about 40% completions against a team like the Saints, which has the 27th best pass defense of the league and with a lot of injured players on the secondary unit. On the other side, the Panthers haven't been impressive lately, but the win at Green Bay showed a very efficient team on the offense. They went 5-5 on the red zone on that game and the last drive of that game certainly gave to Jake Delhomme the confidence that he was looking for. Right now, the Panthers have a great duo of running backs, with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart making the difference right now. Carolina is on a streak of 6 games always rushing for more than 100 yards and so, it's important to know if the Bucs will be capable of stopping these two players. If you look to injury list of this game, we see 3 players of Tampa in doubt for tonight: Kevin Carter, Jovan Haye and Gaines Adams. These three players are part of the defensive line of the Bucs and they have started all games of Tampa this season. So, we won't have a defensive line of the Bucs at 100% tonight and when we see the Panthers' running game on-fire, this can be a huge problem for the Bucs.

I remember that Gruden is 3-13 ATS in road games against good offensive teams (averaging more than 5.65 yards/play) as the coach of Tampa Bay. Come to this, I think we have a good spot for Carolina, with all the necessary factors for the Panthers get a good win in here. Take Carolina in here.

OKL -1.5 vs GSW

It hasn't been a good first year in Oklahoma City for the transplanted Sonics of Seattle. Now the Thunder, the team is off to the fifth-worst start in league history at 2-19 The Thunder's .095 winning percentage (pardon the pun!) has them on pace to finish with eight wins, one fewer than the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers, whose 9-73 record was the NBA's worst ever. That being said, the Thunder have shown signs of progress over the last two weeks. They've only suffered one double-digit loss in their last seven games, winning their first road game of the season 111-103 at Memphis (Nov 29) and losing two home games by a combined three points to the Suns and T-wolves during that stretch. Durant (21.8), Green (14.8-5.7) and rookie guard Russell Westbrook (13.3-3.7-4.0) lead the way. While the Thunder are showing signs of getting better, the Warriors enter on a nine-game losing streak. Golden State has given up an average of 120.1 PPG during its slide and has been outscored by an average of 14.2 PPG, going 0-9 ATS. The Warriors woes are too great to detail but I'll note that leading scorer Stephen Jackson (20.1-4.1-6.3) has failed to top 11 points in three of his last four games. He had just six points on Saturday in the team's embarrassing 123-88 loss at San Antonio, before leaving midway through the second quarter to rest his sprained left hand and is listed as questionable for tonight. Center Andris Biedrins (14.9-11.9) opened the season with 10 straight double-doubles (giving him 17 in a row dating to last season) but he's only had two in his last 10 games. I'll be brave and lay the points with a 2-19 Thunder team.

John Ryan

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Boston Bruins
Play:Tampa Bay Lightning

Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Tampa Bay – Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone 24-12 making 23 units since 2002. Play against a favorite against the money line that is an explosive offensive team scoring 3+ goals/game on the season and after 4 straight wins by 2 goals or more. Here is a second system that has gone 30-14 making 21 units since 2002. Play against any team against the money line that is a good defensive team allowing <=2.55 goals/game on the season and after allowing 1 goal or less in 3 straight games. Boston is just 30-24 against the money line. But losing -21.5 Units in home games against horrible teams being outscored by opponents by 0.65+ goals/game since 1996. Boston HC Claude Julien is in a very poor role noting he is just 18-30 against the money line (-19.8 Units) after a 3 game unbeaten streak in all games he has coached since 1996. Take Tampa Bay.

Charlie Scott

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers
Play:Over 38.5

Going with current form of both teams the OVER is the easy play tonight. Carolina has gone OVER 3 of their last 4 games. The Panthers lost in week #6 to Tampa 3-27, their lowest scoring game of the season for the offense. Look for Carolina's offense to have something to prove tonight, while Tampa's offense averages 23 points a game. Monday Nights have been an Over players dream and it will continue tonight !

Masterbets

Bet on the UNDER for total points

The public have feasted on Overs all season long on Monday Night Football to date and so one has to look at the total points number for tonight and ask the question: why so low? The number is sitting at only 38.5 points, goading the betting public to take another shot at an easy Over cover. We're not biting - instead look for the defenses to come up big in a huge NFC South clash between two quality 9-3 teams.

Our data suggests that the right number for tonight is 35 combined points, so we're getting some value taking the UNDER. It's worth a small wager at the current market prices.
