Someone in this forum posted in this forum a Bowl System. I think it was Sagarin rated teams and it went something like..FADE EVERY team ATS whose strength of schedule rating is 60 or worse unless they are facing a team whose SOS rating is even lower than theirs. Can anyone help?? Post the system, info, etc.

I found it 4Frogster

This is from last year and ended up a winner again if I remember correctly.

I saw this somewhere else, so I am not taking credit for it.
Just thought I would pass it along.

11-1 last season:
Here it is: Of the top 60 Sagarin-rated teams, FADE EVERY team ATS whose strength of schedule rating is 60 or worse unless they are facing a team whose SOS rating is even lower than theirs.

So here are the teams to take ATS this year:
Here are the official plays:
1. Wake Forest = win
2. South Florida = win
3. Arizona = win
4. TCU = loss
5. Notre Dame = win
6. NC State =win
7. Missouri = loss
8. Maryland = win
9. Rice = win
10. Air Force = loss
11. Kansas = win
12. USC =win
13. Kentucky
14. Alabama
15. Connecticut
16. Ball State

Follow that link and look at the " strength of schedule rating " and just follow the system above.

WOW, great stuff guys. This is B E A utiful, lot's of contributions. I will try and get to the link that Blade posted, thank you and if someone else makes it their first, great. If whomever could post the plays that fit the system and because this is a little new to me and maybe some of you, let's have more than one post so we can make sure we are doing it correctly. Let's make some money this bowl season. GL to all.

Ok, here is what I have and the way I understand what we have. I will do the first 2 games just to make sure I am doing it correctly and I also think we will be having a new up dated Saragin list coming out soon.

The current Saragin list that I have is dated Dec. 5 2009 and it will change slightly. This list shows the following: Alabama #1, Florida #2, Texas #3, TCU #4, Oregon #5. As far as I know Texas is now #2 because they beat Nebraska and Alabama beat Florida.

To recap the instructions.

Of the top 60 Saragin rated teams, FADE EVERY team ATS whose SOS is 60 or worse unless they are facing a team whose SOS rating is even lower than theirs.

The first bowl game is the New Mexico Bowl, Sat, Dec. 19 - we have WYOM vs FRSST.

WYOM is not ranked in the top 60 Saragin list, WYOM is ranked # 99. FRSST is ranked in the top 60 Saragin list, FRSST is ranked # 53.

The SOS for WYOM is 69.62 - the SOS for FRSST is 68.12.

So the play here would be to take the higher SOS team which is WYOM +10.5 pts.

Next game, St. Petersburg Bowl, Sat, Dec. 19 - we have CENFL vs RUTG.

CENFL is ranked 61 on the current list, again not in the top 60. RUTG is ranked # 52 on the current list.

The SOS for CENFL is 66.69 - the SOS for RUTG is 64.23.

So the play here would be to take the higher SOS team which is CENFL +2.5 pts.

I will do one more game where both are in the top 60.

Tuesday, Dec. 22, we have BYU vs OREST

BYU is ranked #29 in the current Saragin top 60 list - OREST is ranked #15.

BYU has an SOS of 68.04 - OREST has an SOS of 74.59.

So the play here would be on OREST -2.5 pts. Using the current top 60 Saragin rated list both teams are ranked. Both teams have an SOS that is hihger than 60, however we play on the team who has the higher SOS which is OREST.

Let me know what you guys think, right or wrong. I really don't know if I am doing this correctly, I may be looking at the Saragin list wrong and using the wrong columns.

If the SOS of lower than 60 is the criteria, then I dont see any teams qualifing for the system.

If the SOS of lower than 60 is the criteria, then I dont see any teams qualifing for the system.

The way I understand the criteria is such:

1. Use the top 60 Saragin rated teams.
2. Fade every team ATS whose SOS is 60 or worse.
3. If or unless they are facing a team whose SOS rating is lower than thier own SOS.

So, if none of the top 60 Saragin rated teams have a SOS of 60 or worse we fade the team that has the lower SOS and play on the team that has the higher SOS. Yes, no maybe? Thoughts.
