NFL Week 8

Buccaneers (2-4) @ Vikings (5-2) — Tampa Bay won last five series games, winning last two here, 24-13 in ’05, 24-20 LY, but Minnesota is lot better this year, winning all four home games by average score of 25-14 (2-1 as home fave). Bucs lost but covered both road games, 41-34 (+7.5) at Giants, 16-10 (+7.5) at Dallas; since ’09, they’re 15-9-1 as road underdogs- they’re 3-1 overall as dogs this year. Freeman threw ball for 415 yards last week (9.7 ypa). Minnesota allowed 14 or less points in four of its five wins; Arizona started four of its first six drives in Viking territory last week, but scored only seven points, then Vikes sat on lead in second half (were just 8-17/43 passing). NFC North non-divisional home favorites are 4-4 vs spread; NFC spread non-divisional road teams are 6-0 vs spread, 4-0 if underdogs. Four of last five Tampa games went over; five of last six Viking games stayed under.

Tampa Bay at Minnesota

Welcome back Adrian Peterson. The running back who hadn't scored in five straight games ground out 153 rushing yards, 1 TD as Vikings (5-2, 3-3-1 ATS) defeated Cardinals for the fourth time in the last five meetings. On the defensive end, Vikings' had seven sacks to help offset a poor performance by it's own QB Christian Ponder, who was 8-of-17 for 58 yards, two interceptions in the victory. Vikings now face a quick turnaround game at home vs a Buccaneer (2-4, 4-2 ATS) squad sporting the leagues second worst pass defense (323 PYG) but the 3rd best run-stop unit (76 RYG). A tough spot for Vikings, Peterson isn't likely to slice through Bucs defense easily, Ponder chucking six picks the last three games may not take advantage of Bucs' lowly pass protection putting Vikings in dangerous betting territory as 6.5 point favorites. No secret Bucs have not perform when it's ship sails away from Tampa losing nine straight (3-6 ATS). However, The Bucs have cash both on the road this season and their last road win came right here in Minnesota (24-20) marking a fifth consecutive SU/ATS victory in the series. Bucs a profitable 5-0 ATS as road dogs after scoring =>27 points are worth a second look.
