NFL Betting Preview: Giants at Chiefs Trends, Injuries & Picks
The New York Giants aim to remain undefeated when they travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
The Giants crushed the Buccaneers 24-0 as 6.5-point favorites in Week 3, thanks to Eli Manning’s two touchdown passes and Brandon Jacobs’ 92 rushing yards and one touchdown.
The Chiefs fell to 0-3 on the year with a 34-14 loss to the Eagles as 7.5-point underdogs. Matt Cassel threw for just 90 yards, although he did toss two touchdown passes.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BetOnline have made the Giants 9.5-point favorites over the Chiefs on Sunday. The over/under total for this game has been set at 42.
The Giants are banged up defensively, but that hasn’t stopped them from covering their last two games. Manning is playing outstanding football and receivers Mario Manningham and Steve Smith have stepped up.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, have little offensive firepower and their transition to the 3-4 defense has not be smooth. The Giants should have no problem racking up points, although it’s often tough to beat KC at Arrowhead.
The Giants should be able to control this game on the ground with Jacobs and take shots through the air with Manning and the passing game when opportunities occur. KC is going to have a tough time scoring, especially if they can’t get Larry Johnson going early on.
The G-Men should roll in this one and considering the Chiefs will have a tough time scoring, we also recommend taking the under. The total has gone under in four of the Giants’ last five games on the road, including last week in Tampa.
Our NFL Week 4 Free Pick for this matchup is: NEW YORK GIANTS –9.5 and UNDER 42.
