NFL Draft Day 2 Betting News

The 2020 NFL Draft continues Friday with the second and third rounds at 7:00 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally on ABC, ESPN and the NFL Network in the United States.

Most of the results in the first round had bettors cashing tickets and there are plenty of betting markets available for the next 64 picks to be made on Friday for the second and third rounds.

Jalen Hurts Draft Specials Odds

The former Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooner QB is one of the more intriguing picks for Day 2 of the NFL Draft. Here are the current odds for where Jalen Hurts will be drafted:

2020 NFL Draft - Round Jalen Hurts is Drafted

Prediction: Hurts looks like he'll be a third-round pick at best, which means you might be best suited looking to cash in at +800 on him slipping all the way to the fourth round. The Steelers, Colts, Saints and Lions are my best bets to pull the trigger on the Oklahoma standout who started his career playing for Nick Saban at Alabama.
D'Andre Swift Draft Specials Odds

Only one running back was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft and D'Andre Swift of Georgia was favored to be the first to be selected. He wasn't and bettors can wager on when he'll be picked on Friday.

2020 NFL Draft - Next Running Back Drafted

Swift is once again favored to be the first running back selected off the board in Day 2 and bettors who believe he’ll get passed over again can receive a generous return on other notable running backs.

Prediction: Swift should be the first running back off the board after being passed over with the first 32 picks. Although Jonathan Taylor is a threat and should be your choice if you're intent on not laying so much juice and chasing plus money, he's likely to be gone by the 40th selection.
Jake Fromm Draft Specials Odds

Another Georgia player involved with Friday's action is quarterback Jake Fromm. Only four quarterbacks were taken in the first round and Fromm is expected to go on Day 2 but the oddsmakers are projected a third round selection.

Prediction: Fromm may go late in the second round or early in the third, so he still has a chance to deliver for 'under' bettors. Teams view him as the perfect young backup given his maturity, but how high his ceiling is remains to be seen.
Jacob Eason Draft Specials Odds

Jacob Eason, a standout for the Washington Huskies, is projected to be the first quarterback taken off the board on Friday. Oddsmakers are expecting him to go in the middle of the second round.

Prediction: With the Patriots and Steelers potentially looking for their future starting quarterback in Round 2, Eason looms large as the most likely choice to be the fifth passer selected in this draft. It would be surprising to see him available at pick No. 50.
2020 NFL Draft - Next Quarterback Drafted

While Hurts, the former Alabama and Oklahoma standout, is involved in the most betting markets, the oddsmakers expect Eason to hear his name called first in Day 2.

Prediction: Although pulling the trigger on Fromm for a nice return is tempting, Eason is the most likely choice to hear his name called first among these three and the price isn't too steep to dismiss going 'chalk'.

Six teams did not have a selection in Thursday's first round but they're projected to make picks on Friday in the second or third round.

Bettors can wager on those teams and whether they choose an offensive or defensive player with their first pick.

Prediction: The Patriots are always a threat to improve their defense given the presence of Bill Belichick but have offensive concerns to address like adding talent to the quarterback room and upgrading at receiver. At even money, backing New England to go offense first is enticing.

NFL Draft second-round features deep crop
33. Cincinnati Bengals: Josh Jones, T, Houston
Cincinnati badly needs help up front to protect likely Week 1 starter Joe Burrow and pick up a tackle that many teams had a first-round grade on.

34. Indianapolis Colts: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
The Colts can go in a number of directions and are a threat to take a QB but badly need to upgrade their receiving corps and go for Higgins’ size as an asset in the red zone to play tiebreaker at a very deep position.

35. Detroit Lions: Ezra Cleveland, T, Boise State
The Lions are best served moving newly-signed human turnstile Halapoulivaati Vaitai inside instead of using him at tackle, so coming up with a talented versatile rookie to help protect Matthew Stafford would make for a nice haul.

36. New York Giants: Zack Baun, DE, Wisconsin
The edge rusher may have slipped due to a drug test coming up diluted at the combine but he’s definitely one of the best value picks available and is versatile enough to help immediately.

37. New England Patriots: Jacob Eason, QB, Washington
Jarrett Stidham has a leg up, but getting some competition for him is a priority for Bill Belichick as post-Tom Brady life begins. Eason is the best quarterback on the board.

38. Carolina Panthers: Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
Another potential first-rounder who fills a need, Johnson is likely going to be better than a couple of the corners who were taken ahead of him.

39. Miami Dolphins: Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama
The Dolphins have their choice of the top safeties on the board and go with another Crimson Tide standout to continue an excellent draft.

40. Houston Texans: Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State
Most can’t wait to see how Bill O’Brien screws this up after a run of questionable decisions, but the need for a pass rusher to help take pressure off J.J. Watt and Gross-Matos falling to this spot makes this a no-brainer.

41. Cleveland Browns: Ross Blacklock, DT, TCU
The Browns go best available with the third Horned Frosgs’ player to be drafted. Blacklock is disciplined and physical, making him a candidate to play immediately.

42. Jacksonville Jaguars: D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia
After addressing a couple of defensive needs on Day 1, the Jags could go a number of directions here but can protect themselves with the best running back in the draft since they’re shopping Leonard Fournette.

43. Chicago Bears: Grant Delpit, S, LSU
This is the pick Chicago got in the Khalil Mack deal, which makes it ironic since they’re going to continue to get the better of the Raiders on it by picking one of the best defensive players in the entire draft. Delpit slipped, but will be a difference-maker if he can stay healthy.

44. Indianapolis Colts: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa
Once considered a Top-10 pick, the Hawkeyes’ standout should see his slide end and will get a chance to stay in Big Ten country and prove critics wrong.

45. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
After upgrading the offense with most of their offseason moves, the Bucs address their defensive line though this athletic 300-pounder.

46. Denver Broncos: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
The Bayou Bengals see another from their championship group selected in a corner that fits an area of need for Vic Fangio and the Broncos.

47. Atlanta Falcons: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
The Falcons reached for a corner in round 1 after failing to move up and land a second option in addition to top pick A.J. Terrell in Stephon Diggs’ little brother.

48. New York Jets: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
New York has to get Sam Darnold some receiving talent to work with and has their choice of a number of talented option, ultimately picking the guy who most impressed at the combine.

49. Pittsburgh Steelers: Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado
Although they could try and draft another QB for Ben Roethlisberger to mentor, it’s more important to get their veteran another target as a welcome-back gift.

50. Chicago Bears: Lloyd Cushenberry, C, LSU
One of the top interior linemen available, Cushenberry would be the eighth Tiger selected if things go to form.

51. Dallas Cowboys: Julian Okwara, DE, Notre Dame
Jerry Jones was giddy that CeeDee Lamb slipped to their spot in the first round, but the Cowboys have to get some holes filled on their defense. A pass rusher would help most.

52. Los Angeles Rams: Michael Pittman, Jr., WR, USC
With Brandin Cooks gone and Cooper Kupp and Josh Reynolds in the final year of their rookie deals, L.A. has to get Jared Goff another weapon and don’t have to look far with Pittman available.

53. Philadelphia Eagles: Josh Uche, DE, Michigan
The Eagles addressed their most pressing need by adding a receiver and will look to improve their pass rush with the best available option.

54. Buffalo Bills: Terrell Lewis, DE, Alabama
Injury-related concerns have seen his stock dip, but he’s got a high ceiling at a position where the Bills can use a boost.

55. Baltimore Ravens: Bradlee Anae, DE, Utah
Baltimore is looking to infuse its defense with playmakers and did a nice job adding a speedy linebacker in Patrick Queen. The long, athletic Anae gets after it.

56. Miami Dolphins: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
With so many options available, it’s hard to see Miami passing on improving their backfield and go for the record-setting Wisconsin star over FSU’s Cam Akers and Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins.

57. Los Angeles Rams: Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State
You can never have enough corners, and unless L.A. uses this pick to move up, they’ll add a player who fared well against SEC competition.

58. Minnesota Vikings: Antoine Winfield, Jr., S, Minnesota
This would be a dream scenario for all parties since Winfield is going to be a terrific asset and the Vikings are familiar with his skills.

59. Seattle Seahawks: Curtis Weaver, DE, Boise State
The Seahawks went for the best available player after being unable to trade out of Round 1 and may shop this pick too. Adding the top pass-rusher on the board is a solid fall-back plan.

60. Baltimore Ravens: Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame
The Ravens traded Hayden Hurst and really make use of the tight end well in their offense as a top option for Lamar Jackson. Kmet would be the first at the position off the board.

61. Tennessee Titans: Marlon Davidson, DE, Auburn
The Titans may still be looking to upgrade along the offensive line despite going that route in Round 1 but can also improve their pass rush by staying in SEC country for this selection.

62. Green Bay Packers: Lucas Niang, T, TCU
Green Bay needs to get Aaron Rodgers weapons after that puzzling Thursday night move but choose to upgrade their protection instead, looking to find a replacement for Bryan Bulaga.

63. Kansas City Chiefs: Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinois
Don’t let the small-school tag fool you. The FCS standout has long been considered one of the top defensive backs in this draft.

64. Seattle Seahawks: Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame
Getting Russell Wilson another weapon would be ideal, so a big physical receiver to complement DK Metcalf in the red zone would be a strong move.
