In what should be a low-scoring game in San Francisco, the 49ers will host the Vikings tonight in the second of tonight’s Monday Night Football matchups at 10:20PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the 49ers are 2-point home underdogs versus the Vikings after opening as 4-point favorites when the schedule was first released. As for the total, it opened at 41 and has jumped to 41.5.
The Vikings held six of their last 11 opponents to 17 or less points last season. The 49ers may have had a tough offseason, but this is still a good team with a quality defense. The coaching staff remains pretty much the same with new coach Jim Tomsula, as Eric Mangini moves over to coach the defense.
The return of Pro Bowl linebacker NaVorro Bowman also helps the defense. Minnesota QB Teddy Bridgewater was a quality rookie, but he is still raw. Expect this to be a low-scoring game.
