NFL Network Thanksgiving Day Week 12: Bengals vs. Jets Pick
By Anthony Rome

Bet Bengals vs. Jets

The NFL action on Thanksgiving Day will conclude with a playoff rematch from 2009, as the New York Jets host the Cincinnati Bengals at 8:20PM ET on the NFL Network.

According to NFL odds, oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Jets a 9-point favorite over the Bengals in Week 12. The over/under total for this game is currently 43.5 points.

The Bengals enter Thursday night’s game with the Jets with a 2-8 record. Per latest NFL trends, they’re 3-7 against the spread, which includes a 2-3 record on the road. They’re also 1-4 overall away from Cincinnati in 2010.

After several close calls over the past three weeks, the Jets are 8-2 overall and 6-4 against the number. They’re 3-2 at home this year but have failed to cover in three of those five games at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

NFL Week 12 Free Pick:

The Bengals are a mess. They either fail to show up at the start of the game and spot their opponent a double-digit lead, or they leave at halftime and allow their opponent to crush them in the second half (which is what happened last Sunday against the Bills). The Jets, on the other hand, continue to find ways to win. Mark Sanchez looks like a completely different quarterback than he did at the start of the year and while he still makes mistakes at costly times, he seems to make up for them late in the fourth quarter. He also has found a great new weapon in Santonio Holmes, who has been fantastic the past couple of weeks.

Our pick is the Jets. The favorite if 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. The Bengals are just 1-4 against the number in the last five meetings and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 versus the AFC.

Texas A&M vs. Texas
Play:Texas A&M -3.5

Texas A&M is 8-3 overall this year while Texas comes in with a 5-6 overall record on the season. Texas A&M is 5-1 ATS this year after playing a conference game. Texas is 1-6 ATS this year in games on grass. Texas is 1-5 ATS at home this season. Texas A&M is 7-1 SU on grass this year. Texas A&M is scoring 32.5 points per game overall this year and 34.7 points per game on the road this season. Texas A&M has won 5 games in a row heading into tonight. Texas has lost 4 of their last 5 games overall. We'll recommend a small play on Texas A&M tonight!

Washington Wizards +8

I am taking the value tonight with the Wizards over the Hawks. Atlanta is just 2-7 SU & 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games after starting the season 6-0. Once again, they are overvalued tonight against a Wizards team that is better than most give them credit for. Washington has been playing teams very tough of late, with only one loss by more than 8 points in their last nine games. With John Wall, Gilbert Arenas and Andray Blatche, this team has a solid nucleus and will likely surprise some people by sneaking into the playoffs this year.

Atlanta no longer can sneak up on anybody. They now have expectations after making the playoffs in consecutive years, and as a result they cannot live up to those expectations. Atlanta only beat Washington 99-95 at home in their only meeting of the season back on October 30th, and I don't believe they'll be able to cover this spread tonight. The Wizards come in highly motivated to end their current 10-game losing streak to Atlanta. The Hawks are 0-8 ATS as a home favorite this season, and I'll fade them again in this role tonight. Take Washington Thursday.
