Packers (5-8) @ Jaguars (4-9)-- Jax lost four in row, six of its last seven games, scoring 17 or less points last four weeks (six TDs on 48 drives in last four games, with nine turnovers in last three). Jags lost five of their six home games this season, losing last four. Packers lost last three in a row, giving up 61-35-24 points, losing last two by combined total of 7 points. Packers lost last three rtoad games, by 3-1-22 pts. NFC North favorites are 6-7 out of division, 2-2 on road. AFC South dogs are 6-3 vs spread; this is first time this year an AFC South team is home dog in non-divisional game.

Lions (0-13) @ Colts (9-4)-- Detroit may be winless, but they covered last four road games; their road losses this season are by 13-18-2-7-4-9 points, so tough to lay 17 with Indy club that has won two games this season by more than six points. Colts are 2-4 as home favorite this year, winning last four at home by 28-3-6-32 points. Lions were outscored in second half of last seven games by 102-33 margin. NFC North road dogs are 8-5 vs spread. AFC South home favorites are 5-11 vs spread. Over is 6-1-1 in Lions' last eight games, 0-3 in last three Indianapolis contests.

Redskins (7-6) @ Bengals (1-11-1)-- Lot of turmoil in Washington this week, with Portis criticizing the coach, and both tackles getting hurt last Sunday night in Baltimore; Skins lost four of last five games, winning by FG at 2-11 Seattle. Bengals lost last two games by combined 69-3 score, so you can make argument they're in tank for season-- in their last eight games, Cincinnati was outscored 143-16 in second half. NFC East faves are 17-9 vs spread, 6-5 on road; AFC North home dogs are 4-2 against the spread. Under is 8-0-1 in last nine Washington games.

Buccaneers (9-4) @ Falcons (8-5)-- Atlanta lost 24-9 in Tampa back in Week 2 (-7.5), getting outrushed 164-105, as Ryan's offense went 3/out on 6 of 11 drives in his first road start, averaging 3.5 yards/pass attempt. Falcons are 5-1 at home, losing to Denver, winning games by 13-24-14-2-17 points (3-1 as home favorite). Bucs gave up 299 rushing yards in loss at Charlotte Monday; they're 3-4 on road, winning at Bears, Lions and Chiefs. Six of last nine Buc games stayed under the total. NFC South home favorites are 8-2 vs spread in non-divisional games.

49ers (5-8) @ Dolphins (8-5)-- Niners won three of last four games, are 4-1 vs spread with Singletary as coach; they're 3-3 as road dog, losing on foreign soil by 14-12-5-13 points, winning at Seattle, Buffalo. Miami is 6-1 in its last seven games, depsite scoring 17-16-16 points in last three wins. Dolphins are 1-4 as home favorite this year- this is their last home game of '08, unless they win AFC East. Miami hasn't allowed a TD in last two games, after giving up 48 pointso to Patriots in Week 12 loss. NFC West road underdogs are 5-11 vs spread; AFC East home favorites are 6-11. Six of last seven Miami games stayed under the total.

Seahawks (2-11) @ Rams (2-11)-- St Louis lost last seven games (1-5 vs spread in last six); they scored two TDs on 37 drives in losing last three at home. Seattle lost last six games, though they did put up good fight at home vs Patriots last week, losing 24-21. Rams (+9) lost 37-13 at Seattle back in Week 3, giving up 245 rushing yards- they actually have a better record than Hawks since then, are -15 in turnovers in the last six games, coughing ball up 21 times. Under is 5-1 in the last six Seattle games, 5-2 in the last seven Ram games. Faves are 6-2 vs spread in NFC West tilts, 3-0 on road.

Bills (6-7) @ Jets (8-5)-- Buffalo is about to join short list of NFL clubs that started season 4-0, but missed playoffs; they'e 1-6 in last seven, 0-6 vs spread in the six losses (by 9-9-10-2-7-13 points)- they're without a TD on 18 drives in last two games (two FGAs). Jets won first meeting 26-17 at Buffalo, getting five sacks, three takeaways (+3), one of which was a long defensive TD that turned game in Jets' favor. Gang Green lost to Denver, 49ers in last two games, running ball 31 times, dropping back to pass 79. Jets are 3-3 as home favorite, Bills 1-3 as a road underdog.

Titans (12-1) @ Texans (6-7)-- Houston won last three games, allowing 14.7 ppg, after giving up 34 ppg in three games before that; Texans lost first meeting 31-12 in Week 3, when their lives had been disrupted by a hurricane (their Week 2 game was postponed). Houston won four of last five home games, covered five of last six as an underdog. Tennessee won all six road games (6-0 vs spread); they're 9-2 vs spread as favorite this season. AFC South home teams are 3-5 vs spread in division games, 1-2 as underdog. Titans held four of their last five opponents under 4.3 ypa.

Steelers (10-3) @ Ravens (9-4)-- First place in AFC North on line, with undercurrent of Ravens having rumored bounty on Hines Ward. Ravens lost first meeting 23-20 in OT at Heinz (+5), blowing 13-3 halftime lead. Steelers won last four games, covered last three; they're 3-1 as underdog this season, 5-1 SU on road, losing 15-6 at Philly in Week 3. Ravens are 7-1 in last eight games, losing only to Giants; they outscored last three opponents 94-20 since that loss (57-10 in second half), are 5-1 at home, losing only to 12-1 Titans. Home faves are 2-3 vs spread in AFC North.

Broncos (8-5) @ Panthers (10-3)--
Carolina knows it gets home field in NFC playoffs if they win out, but short week for them here, with trip to Swamp to play Giants in primetime next week, so they better not look past Denver team that won four of last five games, with underdogs 6-0 vs spread in their last six. Panthers are 7-0 at home (4-2-1 as home fave), winning by 3-15-34-23-4-9-15 points. Denver is 4-2 on road, winning its last three games on foreign soil. NFC South home favorites are 8-5 vs the spread in non-league games; AFC West road underdogs are 8-6 vs spread

Chargers (5-8) @ Chiefs (2-11)-- San Diego escaped with 20-19 win in first meeting, when Chiefs scored in last minute, but went for a winning 2-point conversion and failed, rather than kick simple game-tying PAT, which would have forced OT. Chiefs don't win much, but they're 5-2 vs spread in last seven games- they're 1-5 at home, 3-3, as home dog, with home losses by 15-24-3-10-23 points. Chargers had three extra days to prepare after beating Raiders, just their second win in last seven games- they're 1-5 on road, and were down 15-0 in game they won, at Oakland.

Vikings (8-5) @ Cardinals (8-5)-- Arizona clinched first division title in 33 years last week; they're 5-1 at home, losing only to Giants, are 6-1 vs spread as favorite this season. Minnesota won three in row, five of last six. Last I heard (this is on Wednesday) was that Frerotte didn't practice Wednesday, making Jackson likely starter Sunday. Cardinals allowed 24 or less points in all eight wins, an average of 38.4 in their losses. Vikes have six INTs in last three games, after having total of six in their first 10 games. Seven of last ten Arizona games, five of last seven Viking games went over the total.

Patriots (8-5) @ Raiders (3-10)-- Father of QB Cassel passed away this week; he has left team, will update when/if he returns. Backups QB have no NFL experience (O'Connell, Gutierrez). Oakland lost six of last seven games, beating Broncos in Denver- they're 1-5 at home, beating Jets but losing games by 27-10-24-11-7 points. Patriots are staying in California this week after winning in Seattle Sunday; they're 4-2 on road, winning by 9-9-20-3 points, losing at San Diego, Indy. AFC East road favorites are 2-5 vs spread. AFC West home underdogs are 2-5 against spread.

Giants (11-2) @ Cowboys (8-5)-- Desperate times for Dallas squad in fight for playoff life; they lost first meeting 35-14 (+8.5) in Week 9, the last game Romo missed. Giants had 200 rushing yards in that game, but Jacobs (knee) is banged up, and Cowboys need this game more. Giants gained just 211 yards in loss to Eagles last week, their first loss in eight games. Home teams are just 2-6 vs spread in NFC East divisional games. Dallas is 5-1 at home, losing only to Eagles; they scored 35-34 points in last two home games. Under is 3-1 in last four games for both games.

Monday, December 15

Browns (4-9) @ Eagles (7-5-1)-- Philly won last two games, close with Redskins/Cowboys, so they can make playoffs if they run table- they're 4-2 as home favorite, with home wins by 35-9-13-28 points. Cleveland is down to Dorsey at QB; in their last three games, they've scored 6-6-9 points (no TDs/nine TOs/11 3-outs/30 drives). AFC North road dogs are 10-7 vs spread. NFC East home favorites are 11-4 against the spread. Last three Cleveland games, four of six Eagle home games stayed under total. Two of Browns' wins this season came on Monday night (against Giants, Bills).

Week 15: Five Stats You Need to Know
Scott Rickenbach

Heading into Week 15 of the NFL please note these stats (all are ATS – against the spread, unless otherwise noted) are definitely items to consider as you look at the deep NFL card. However, this does not mean these are “plays” in the true sense of the word. That said, the hope is that the ATS information below helps you as you “traverse” this week’s NFL card! As always, best of luck in all your sports gaming from Scott Rickenbach

1) This season the Bills are a now “perfect” 0-4 ATS in divisional play after another loss last week when the Dolphins beat Buffalo in Toronto. The field they played on had already been complained about in terms of lighting (it’s a dome) as well as the turf (issues with seams) but it was still Miami that overcame the obstacles while the Bills once again failed to get the cash in a divisional match-up. In other words, it might be wise to stay away from the Bills or possibly even take a look at going against them this week as they travel to face another divisional opponent. This time it’s the Jets. New York is coming off of a poor effort at San Francisco last week but is 3-1 ATS in divisional play and the Jets should be fired up and ready to roll at home.

2) Green Bay is 6-1 ATS when facing an AFC opponent. Last week they were hosting a Houston team and lost but they are now on the road at Jacksonville and the Packers are 8-4-1 ATS their last 13 road games against non-conference opposition. Jacksonville is now a “perfect” 0-6 ATS at home this season! The Jaguars are simply having an awful season after losing again by double digits at Chicago last week. Also, as you can see from the above, playing at home hasn’t helped the Jags this season. Hosting a Green Bay team that is 4-2 ATS on the road this season is unlikely to help matters for the stumbling Jaguars.

3) Houston is just 2-5 ATS as a home dog when facing divisional opposition. This week they must face the “cream of the crop” as the Titans are in town. Unlike the Texans, Tennessee has had no trouble with divisional opponents. The Titans are now 14-2 ATS in their last 16 against AFC South opponents. Of course most people know that the Titans have been one of the hottest teams in the league this season (11-2 ATS!) but many may not realize how far back their road success goes. They are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 road games! Houston will be highly motivated for this game though as they always are for the Titans but can the above numbers be ignored?

4) St Louis is now on a 0-6 run in divisional play. Last week the Rams traveled to Arizona and got drilled once again! Also, St Louis is facing a divisional opponent that has been doing just fine against NFC West competition. The Seahawks have covered seven of their last nine divisional match-ups. St Louis lost by 24 points last week while the Seahawks battled hard against the Patriots before coming up just three points short against New England. The Hawks could certainly carry some momentum forward from their effort against the Pats while the Rams can’t feel too good about last week’s 34 to 10 loss!

5) New England is on a 20-8 ATS run when favored on the road. Last week the Patriots were visiting a Seahawks team that just hadn’t seemed able to snap their season-long funk. Though the Pats got the win they did not get the cover but their still worth a look again in a very similar spot this week. The Raiders have covered just six of their last twenty games at home! Also, Oakland is only 8-23 ATS in their last 31 games against a team from outside the AFC West. The Raiders got pummeled by 27 points at San Diego last week and there simply appears to be no end to Oakland’s futility this season. This includes their offensive ineptitude which leaves them very susceptible to another big loss this week!
