The Sunday night game this weekend in the NFL features the banged up Eagles against the 49ers, who are desperately still seeking their first win of the year. Read on to check out our pick for this Week 5 matchup.

Before we hand out our pick for tonight’s game, let’s take a look at the current odds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the 49ers 3-point favorites over the Eagles in Week 5. The over/under total for this game is currently 38 points.
Philadelphia dropped to 2-2 on the year after Michael Vick was injured earlier in the first quarter last Sunday and Kevin Kolb had to take over. He couldn’t rescue the Eagles, however, as the birds lost to the Redskins in Donovan McNabb’s return to Philly.
The 49ers nearly earned their first victory of the year in Atlanta last Sunday, but thanks to an unbelievable play by Roddy White (who stripped Nate Clements after it appeared as though the cornerback had sealed the game with an interception) the Falcons escaped with a win.
The Eagles are now 2-2 on the year and 1-3 against the spread, while the 49ers are 0-4 but are 2-2 against the number.
The Pick:
The Eagles are 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams, but this is a different Philly team with Kolb at quarterback than Vick. Kolb has yet to show that he can move Andy Reid’s offense and while San Francisco has not played well defensively for most of the year, it shouldn’t have many problems keeping Kolb in check.
The favorite is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams. My pick is the 49ers, who have been knocking on the door of their first win and should get it this Sunday night at home. Of course, that means that quarterback Alex Smith will have to play with some consistency, which he hasn’t shown yet. He must protect the ball.
