Ravens at Vikings Spread Odds, Trends & Injuries

In one of the better matchups on the Week 6 schedule, the Baltimore Ravens travel to the Metrodome on Sunday to take on the undefeated Minnesota Vikings.

Bet NFL Week 6

The Ravens lost their second game in two weeks last Sunday when the Bengals beat them in Baltimore 17-14. Joe Flacco threw for 186 yards and a touchdown, but also threw two interceptions as the Ravens failed to cover as 9-point favorites. Ray Rice also rushed for 69 yards on 14 carries and caught seven passes for 74 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

The Vikings improved to 5-0 with a commanding 38-10 win over the Rams in Week 5, despite allowing St. Louis to total 400 yards of offense. Adrian Peterson rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, while Brett Favre threw for 232 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Minnesota covered as 10.5-point favorites.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Vikings 3-point home favorites over the Ravens on Sunday. The over/under total for this game has been set at 44.5.

The Ravens are reeling right now and perhaps their 3-0 start was more of a fluke then people thought. The Vikings are on fire and will test Baltimore’s resolve to win in a tough environment.

If Baltimore loads up to stop the run and can’t pressure Favre in passing situations, then the Ravens are going to lose. It’s as simple as that. Opposing teams have loaded the box in efforts to stop Peterson and Favre is beating them over the top with his outstanding accuracy.

The Ravens’ best weapon offensively is Rice, who will have a tough time finding running room against a stingy Vikings’ run defense. We don’t like the matchup for Baltimore in terms of its receivers vs. Minnesota’s cornerbacks. We think Flacco will struggle to produce big plays this week.

We think the Ravens will continue their snide, while the Vikings stay undefeated in a tight game.

Our NFL Week 6 Free Pick for this matchup is: MINNESOTA VIKINGS -3 and UNDER 44.5.
