Ole Miss ousts Orgeron
November 24th, 2007
Oxford, MS (Sports Network) - Ole Miss has scheduled a news conference for Saturday afternoon, at which time the school is expected to announce the firing of head football coach Ed Orgeron.
According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Orgeron's staff was also dismissed on the heels of Friday's 17-14 loss to Mississippi State.
Ole Miss finished the 2007 season with a record of 3-9, including 0-8 in the SEC. It marked the first winless season for the Rebels in conference action since 1982.
Orgeron completed his three-year tenure with a 10-25 mark. He was given a two-year contract extension in January.
