Panthers vs. VIKINGS -3.5! LOOK OUT!!

I spotted this game almost immediately when looking over the lines on Tuesday morning. So what's wrong with it? It stinks to high heaven is what!

If you go back to last week, I took the Redskins vs. the Saints even though the public was all over the Saints. I kept asking myself WHY wasn't the line moving down even though a ton of money was coming in on the Saints. Well we know what happened in that game. Now I see the same situation.

We have the Vikings as a 3.5....not 3 mind you... but 3.5 point fave over the Panthers. We all should know that these teams have the exact OPPOSITE record both SU and ATS. Panthers are 2-0 SU and 1-0-1 ATS, while the Vikings are 0-2 SU and ATS. So why would Mr. Oddsmaker make the Vikings not only a fave, but a 3.5 point fave? Seems to me he's trying to get John Q. Public to take the Panthers in this game, and to make sure of it, he's added on the "hook" (1/2 point), just to make sure of it. And he's doing a great job, as fully 70% of the bets so far are on the Panthers....and it isn't even Sunday yet.

Let's not forget, that the oddsmaker knows all, so the fact that Frerrote is going to be the QB, and that Petersen has been missing practices is nothing new to him. And yet he isn't moving the line down even though the money is pouring in on the Panthers! :confused: Not even a half point! And I'm sure you all know by now, that Steve Smiths suspension is over, and he's going to play this weekend. Someone else is to, but I forget who!

So with all this information, and the money pouring in on the Panthers, he STILL hasn't moved the line down! Sure the Vikings have their backs to the wall, and are in a must win situation, but so are 7 other teams, but that doesn't mean they are going to win. Chiefs, Bengals, Dolphins, Rams, Lions, Jaguars and Browns are all in the same situation. I'll talk about the Browns in a few as they are the only other dog that has a higher amount of money on them then the fave.

So if you think I'm full of sh*t, you better bet the Panthers RIGHT NOW , because you aren't going to get that extra half on Sunday or maybe even tomorrow. At least you can buy up to 4 right now.

Now for the Brownies! Here's another screwy line. Ravens, who didn't play last week, are a 2.5 point fave over the Browns. Why a home team isn't at least a 3 point fave, just doesn't make sense. Matter of fact, I think this line is going lower! Ravens are 1-0 afterall, and had a extra weeks rest due to IKE! I really like this kid Flacco, and think he's going to be a real pro leading the Ravens. Last I looked, the Ravens are still the same ferocious defense that has been there for many moons! I really think the public is overating the Browns based on their play last year! And they are underating the Ravens and don't realize what this Flacco kid brings to the table. But this will work to our advantage as we take advantage of the oddsmakers line. Not that he's making the mistake...the public is. As I've stated many times before, the oddsmaker doesn't set the line as to what it should be, but what the public PERCEIVES it to be.

Always remember this folks, the oddsmaker isn't getting paid by YOU! You haven't sent him any money lately have you? Well neither have I, but I can decipher what he's trying to do! He is getting paid however, by the miriad of sports books in this nation, TO MAKE THEM MONEY! These books aren't paying for a service that is going to LOSE them money! Sure they aren't going to win all the time....who the hell would continue betting if that was the case? They just want their % over the course of the season, with more winning weeks than losing ones! So just keep this in mind when you are placing your bets!
