NBA | Knicks vs Warriors
Play on: Knicks +14 -105 at 5Dimes
My 1* Free Play is on the New York Knicks.
The Knicks look to atone for a listless 127-107 road loss at the Lakers on Sunday. The Warriors return home after winning the first four games of their trip, only to fall 116-108 to the Rockets in Houston in their finale on Saturday.
Not surprisingly, this sets up as a “revenge” game for the visitors, as GS has taken six straight in the series, including both last year.
New York averages 104.6 PPG and it concedes 105.7. Big man Kristaps Porzingis leads the nightly charge with 23.3 points, 6.7 boards and 2.34 blocks per game. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Porzingis each had 17 in the setback to LA.
Golden State averages 115.8 PPG and it concedes 107.1. Kevin Durant contributes 26.2 points, 6.9 boards and 5.4 assists per game, while Stephen Curry adds 27.4 points and 6.5 assist per game. In the setback in Houston, Durant had 26 points and seven boards.
I’ll point out though that the Warriors have done very poor in this spot for bettors this year, going just 3-5 ATS as a home fav of 12.5 or more points and only 3-5 ATS when playing with two days rest, while New York has done well in this position by going 10-3 ATS after a loss by ten points or more and 12-9 ATS against good offensive clubs with average 106 plus points per outing.
With conference rival and third seed Minnesota coming to town on Thursday, followed by the Celtics on Saturday night, it’s not too hard to imagine the mighty defending champs looking past their lowly non-conference opponent this evening.
After losing eight of their last ten, clearly the Knicks do not have the same luxury, as they’ll try their best to keep this one competitive. I think the stage is set for a battle.
Consider grabbing the points in this one.
Good luck…Larry

NCAA-B | Clemson vs Virginia
Play on: Virginia -8½ -105 at BMaker
I'm recommending a play on Virginia minus the points on Tuesday. Virginia has won the last six meetings (4-1-1 ATS) and it's 18-1 this season with a 12-4 ATS record. Clemson has not won or covered its last two road games against N.C. State and North Carolina and the Tigers will be playing their first game without second-leading scorer and top rebounder, Donta Grantham, who is out for the season with a knee injury. Tony Bennett's teams always are among the leaders defensively, but this season the Cavaliers have a decent offense and shooting 47.0 percent overall and 39.4 percent from 3-point range. Virginia's defense holds opponents to just 52.4 points per contest and a .366 field goal percentage. Virginia is 5-1 ATS its last six games, including Sunday's 59-49 road win over Wake Forest. We'll back them here. We're recommending a play on Virginia minus the points on Tuesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

NCAA-B | Northwestern vs Minnesota
Play on: Minnesota -3 +100 at betonline
Northwestern vs Minnesota Free Pick January 23, 2017. The Minnesota Golden Gophers have been hit hard by injuries this season, losing center Reggie Lynch for the rest of the year, and playing the majority of their BIG10 games without starting guard Amir Coffey. They host Northwestern tonight, and after playing 35 minutes against Ohio State, it is expected that Coffey should be in the lineup for tonight's game. The Wildcats have been brutal on the road, losing five of six. They scored an average of just 61.5 points in those games, and that's 20 points less than Minnesota has scored at home. Neither team has been playing well of late, but I think Minnesota is trending in the right direction. The Wildcats won their last game at home versus Penn State, while the Gophers last win came on the road against the Nittany Lions. The Wildcats have failed to cover in four straight road games, and their last two road losses came by a combined margin of 35 points (at Penn State and Indiana). The Gophers are coming off a blowout loss to Ohio State, falling apart after opening up a 20-10 lead in the first half. I expect them to start strong here tonight, but this time they should be able to hold on for a win. Take MIN. GL,

NBA (509) BOSTON CELTICS VS (510) LOS ANGELES LAKERS
Take: UNDER
Reason: Your free play for Tuesday is in the NBA schedule contest between the Boston Celtics and LA Lakers. Second half of the TNT doubleheader has the Celtics laying points here at LA Lakers tonight. The Celtics had a great start to the season, however they have fallen on hard times of late. The Celtics have lost three straight games, all at home. The Celtics have the 2nd best team scoring defense in the league, allowing 98 ppg. They need that defense since their offense scores just 102.6 ppg (24th in NBA). Boston has gone under in five of their last seven games and is 3-14-1 O/U their last 18 vs the Pacific division. The Lakers have gone under in five of their last seven games and 2-5 O/U playing on one day rest. The last four meetings between these clubs has gone UNDER. I look for that trend to continue here today. Play the UNDER.

Tuesday night comp play comes in Big Twelve action, as I back the Jayhawks in their big showdown with the Sooners.
Oklahoma is a perfect 9-0 straight up on their home court thus far this season, but I expect that mark to take a hit tonight against the Rock Chalkers from Lawrence, as KU does bring a 5-0 road spread mark into this game, including covers at TCU and West Virginia.
The Sooners have been slumping of late, as they bring just a 1-4 spread mark over their last 5 games into this Monday tussle with Kansas, and the Sooners have also dropped 3 of the last 4 games played against the Jayhawks straight up!
Trae Young has been the story of the year so far in college buckets, but you can rest assured Kansas will come in with a chip on their shoulders and will want to take the Sooners down a peg or two.
Gonna be a good one tonight, in Norman, but my money is on Kansas.
3* KANSAS

Two iconic teams get ready to battle, and usually people would be dying to bet the over in this one. However, Cleveland is coming off five of six losses, and looks lost at sea. San Antonio is still dealing with the fact that their star player is out and now there are rumors swirling that Leonard and the Spurs aren't seeing eye-to-eye on a return.
In addition, San Antonio just benched Tony Parker for Murray... I don't think anyone ever saw that coming.
When the Cavaliers play a good team at home the game always goes under, the under is 8-3 in the Cavaliers’ last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Whenever San Antonio plays on one day's rest, the game usually goes under, the under for San Antonio is 5-0 in their last 5 games playing on 1 day of rest. In fact, all of San Antonio's games have been going under lately, the under is 6-0 in their last six overall.
The bottom line is that San Antonio’s weak offense and strong defense will keep this game under the posted total.
3* CLEVELAND-SAN ANTONIO UNDER
