Cajun-Sports continues to cash on the hardwood make sure you join them on Wednesday for their NBA and CBB Best Bets. Tonight’s Complimentary Selection comes from the college basketball card on Wednesday night. The featured affair is between Loyola-Chicago and Illinois State. We know Illinois State coming off a SU win in their last game and now facing Loyola-Chicago as a favorite. Illinois State are a perfect 0-5 ATS in the current situation. Loyola-Chicago coming off an ATS win in their last game and now play on the road have produced a record of 34-15-1 ATS. If they are installed as a road underdog in that same situation their record is 29-9-1 ATS including a perfect 6-0 ATS in the current price range. Loyola-Chicago coming off a SU and ATS victory in their last game and now play away from home have posted a record of 27-10-1 ATS. If they are installed as a road underdog they are 22-7-1 ATS including a perfect 5-0 ATS in the current price range. We want to play AGAINST CBB conference home favorites or pickem teams coming off a game at home as an underdog and the game went Under the posted total because these home teams are 44-71-3 ATS. We are going to play Loyola-Chicago on Wednesday night.

NCAA-B | Drake vs Valparaiso
Play on: Valparaiso -3½ -115 at betonline

If you have bought any of my premium plays this season you know I have cashed a lot on this Drake Bulldog team. They have been playing great with their new head coach and sit atop the Missouri Valley Conference.

I think it's time to back off now as this team as a target on their back and won't be getting over looked for the remaining part of conference play. Drake is undefeated in the conference but 3 of the 4 games game down to the wire winning by 3 twice and 2 one time.

Valpo defends their home court well going 6-1 SU and are coming off a nice 22 point win over Southern Illinois. I think they get the job done here tonight.

NCAA-B | Youngstown State vs Oakland
Play on: Oakland -15½ -105 at 5Dimes

I'm laying the points with Oakland on Wednesday. The Golden Grizzlies were expecting big things before the season began, but three straight losses have dropped the record to 9-8 and they can't afford to drop many more. Tonight, they'll face Youngstown State. The Penguins were 2-11 after a 28-point loss to Indiana in late December, but have since won three in a row. But Oakland is a definite step-up in level of competition for the Pens, while YSU is not quite as strong as Oakland's last two opponents. YSU has just two reliable scorers, while Oakland is led by Kendrick Nunn's 25.7 ppg and two others averaging over 19 ppg. The Grizzlies also have three capable "dishers" with 58, 59, and 93 assists on the season. Oakland will also have revenge on their mind after losing 81-80 as a 13 1/2 point favorite last March. Youngstown has covered just 3 of their last 11 on the road, while Oakland is on a 6-2-1 ATS head-to-head run. Finally, certain double digit favorites off at least two consecutive losses as a favorite have fared quite well ATS over the last several years and we expect more of the same tonight. We're laying the points with Oakland on Wednesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

NBA | Jazz vs Wizards
Play on: Jazz +7½ -110 at BMaker

There's a certain randomness factor here since both teams last played during the weekend. Randomness is good when backing an underdog, especially one in the mid-size points range. Utah has really been struggling losing 13 of its last 16. A combination of injuries and a road-heavy December schedule are big reasons why its record has been so bad. But with two full days off, the Jazz were able to get in a couple of much needed practices as they continue to adjust to the absence of center Rudy Gobert. There is evidence this will help. The Jazz are 6-4 when playing with two or more days rest, including covering four of the last five times in this situation. This compares favorably when you consider they are 5-15 when having one day of rest. There also are clear indications that the Wizards play down to the level of their competition. Washington is 23-17, yet just 9-10 versus below .500 opponents. The Wizards are 3-8 ATS the past 11 times they've gone against sub .500 foes and 3-8 ATS the last 11 times they've been favored. The Jazz have had the Wizards' number, too, winning and covering the last four in the series. The teams met early last month and the Jazz absolutely destroyed the Wizards, 116-69. That was Utah's most impressive game of the season.

NBA | Hawks vs Nuggets
Play on: Nuggets -9 -110 at betonline

My 1* Free Play is on the Denver Nuggets (9:05 EST).

The Hawks won’t be playing in the postseason, but if the campaign ended today, the Nuggets would be with the No. 6 seed in the West and a 21-18 overall record.

Atlanta almost got off the schneid in its latest outing, but it comes into tonight’s contest off another loss, this one of the “heart breaking” variety (108-107 setback to the Clippers.) Taurean Prince was a standout with 20 points, four boards, three assists, two blocks and a steal.

The Nuggets come in off a 124-114 loss to the Warriors, as Stephen Curry went off for 32 points and nine assists. Denver though had four players that put up at least 21 points in that one (Gary Haris, Trey Lyles, Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic.)

I’ll point out as well that the Hawks are just 1-2 ATS in their last three after scoring 105 points or more in their previous contest, while Denver is 11-7 ATS at home and 6-3 ATS after allowing 115 points or more in its previous outing.

Atlanta has a letdown here in my opinion in the finale of its five game Western swing, while I look for the Nuggets to bounce back after their loss to the defending champs.

Consider Denver in this one.

Good luck…Larry

Basketball is all about matchups, and the matchups in this Big East rivalry between Xavier and host Villanova have been all wrong for the Musketeers lately.

Nova has won the last pair of meetings, and 9 of the last 10 straight up, The Wildcats have also covered in 8 of the last 9 series meetings.

Both teams suffered recent losses, as Xavier saw their 10 game winning streak snapped in a road loss at Providence. Chris Mack's team is playing for the 4th time in their last 6 games away from their home campus, and since they have not been able to figure out the Wildcats, I suggest laying the wood with the 14-1 and # 1 ranked home team.

Villanova has covered in 3 of their 4 lined home games, and they cover again tonight.

Lay it with Villanova in this big Big East Wednesday night battle from the Main Line.

3* VILLANOVA

ro comp play for tonight will be Denver minus the points at home against road-weary Atlanta.

The Hawks are now playing their last of 5 in a row on the road, and it will be their 5th road game over their past 8 days. Thus far, Atlanta has dropped all 4 on this trek, and are just 1-2-1 against the spread.

The Nuggets play off back-to-back losses, but they both occurred on the road. At home, Denver is a solid 14-4 straight up with 11 covers in those 18 games. The Nuggs have covered their last pair in the Mile High City, and they should have more than enough firepower to take care of a tired Hawks team at altitude.

Denver snapped a 4-game series losing streak with the 105-100 win in Atlanta way back in October, but did not cover as the road favorite. At home is where you want to back the Nuggets, and that is where they are at tonight.

Lay the lumber with the Nuggets over the Hawks.

2* DENVER

Chase Diamond

Chase's 15* NBA LOCKDOWN

Detroit vs. Brooklyn, 01/10/2018 19:30 EDT

Point Spread: +2/-105 Brooklyn

Sportsbook:
PinnacleSports

This game features the 21-18 Pistons and the 15-25 Nets. Pistons have been better this year but not on the road where they are just 8-13. Nets are 15-14 ATS this season and have cashed 6 straight games this looks like another one where we the books can get the public good. 73% are backing the Pistons I'll take the Nets plus the points for a 15* winner.

Scott Rickenbach

Free Pick Wednesday NHL

Ottawa vs. Toronto, 01/10/2018 19:30 EDT

Total: -105/+6 Over

Sportsbook:
BetOnline

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Game #1 Wednesday Free Pick OVER the total in Toronto Maple Leafs vs Ottawa Senators @ 7:35 ET - The Senators are a mess right now due to missing so many players. With that said, and with this being their final game before a week long break, another wild high-scoring game is likely tonight. The Sens lost 8-2 last night and both goalies struggled and allowed 4 goals apiece. That doesn't bode well for now facing a Maple Leafs team that is very hungry off of a loss after blowing a very late 2-goal lead in their most recent game. Toronto will be ready to respond here and should score plenty but I also expect the Senators to answer the goals quite often as they are off of that embarrassing home loss to Chicago last night. Ottawa had scored 6 goals in each of their two prior games. Overall, the over is 7-3 in the Senators last 10 games. Also, the Sens last 5 games with the division rival Maple Leafs have gone 4-1 to the over. The over is 17-8 in Ottawa's games against teams with a winning record this season. The Maple Leafs have allowed an average of 3.2 goals per game in their last 9 games. The Leafs have scored an average of 3.4 goals per game in their last 10 games. More of the same here! Free Pick on OVER the total in Toronto
