St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Rams announced Thursday that they have released the franchise's all-time leading receiver, Isaac Bruce, as well as backup quarterback Gus Frerotte.

Only Jerry Rice and Tim Brown have totaled more pass-catching yards than the 35-year-old Bruce.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native also ranks eighth among active wideouts in career touchdowns, and 41st on the all-time list. He caught 12 TD passes during the 1999 season, when the Rams went on to win Super Bowl XXXIV, and totaled a career-high 1,471 yards the following season.

In 2007, Bruce's role was reduced somewhat, though he still caught 55 passes for 733 yards, scoring four touchdowns,

Frerotte, also a veteran of 14 NFL seasons, played in nine games during his two-year stint with St. Louis. For his career, Frerotte has thrown for 19,134 yards and 102 touchdowns - as well as 91 interceptions - for the Redskins, Lions, Broncos, Bengals, Vikings, Dolphins and Rams.
