Report: Lions deal Bly to Broncos for Bell, Foster

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions have finalized a deal that will send cornerback Dre' Bly to Denver in exchange for running back Tatum Bell, right tackle George Foster and a draft pick, the Denver Post reported on Thursday.

The NFL free agency and trading period begins at 12:01 a.m. Thursday night, after which the teams can announce the deal.

Bly, an eight-year veteran out of North Carolina and two-time Pro-Bowl selection, will likely fill the position vacated when Darrent Williams was shot and killed in downtown Denver on Jan. 1.

Bly, who has split his eight years in the league between Detroit and St. Louis, has 31 career interceptions and eight touchdowns.

Bell, entering his fourth year out of Oklahoma State, rushed 233 times for 1,025 yards and two touchdowns last year while splitting time with Mike Bell.

The 6'5, 338-pound Foster enters his fifth year in the league out of Georgia, all spent in Denver.
