Saints vs. Rams Week 10 Odds – Our Expert Pick
Our NFC West rivals square off in St. Louis this weekend when the Rams host the New Orleans Saints at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
The Saints beat the Panthers 30-20 as a 12-point favorite in Week 9, while the combined score fell under the posted total of 51 points. Drew Brees threw for 330 yards with a touchdown, while receiver Robert Meachem caught five passes for 98 yards and a touchdown.
The Rams were off last week, but earned their first win of the season in Week 8 by beating the Lions 17-10 as 3-point underdogs. Steven Jackson rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in the win, while Marc Bulger threw for 176 yards. The combined score fell under the posted total of 43.5 points.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Saints 14-point favorites over the Rams in Week 10. The over/under total for this game has been set for 50 points.
Although they have failed to cover in their last two games, the Saints are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games and 6-0-1 against the number in their last seven games on the road. Conversely, the Rams are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games at home and 4-13 against the number in their last 17 games when playing at home against New Orleans.
The Saints haven’t gotten off to fast starts the past two weeks, which is part of the reason they have failed to cover. Another reason is because they’ve been double-digit favorites over division rivals that are familiar with how they play. The Rams are not, which is why we think New Orleans will get back to its high-scoring ways and lay a beat down in St. Louis.
The Rams’ pass defense hasn’t played that bad this season, but they’ll be no matchup for Brees and the talented group of receivers at his disposal. Mike Bell, Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush should also have a fair amount of success churning out yards against a St. Louis defense that is giving up over 115 yards rushing per game.
Our free pick for this matchup is the Saints, who should roll this weekend. We don’t expect the Rams to contribute much to the scoreboard, which is also why we like the under in this game. If the Panthers and Saints only combined for 50 points, what makes anyone think New Orleans and St. Louis will?
Our NFL Week 10 Free Pick for this matchup is: NEW ORLEANS -14 and UNDER 50.
