Missouri RB Temple to miss OU game

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Tony Temple, Missouri's leading rusher, will miss Saturday's game against No. 6 Oklahoma due to a sprained ankle.
Temple was injured in the second quarter of the No. 17 Tigers' 41-6 victory over Nebraska last week, totaling three carries for minus-2 yards in the game. On Monday, coach Gary Pinkel said he was day to day.
Temple has 351 yards rushing with a 4.9-yard average and three touchdowns. Jimmy Jackson would likely start in his place.
Temple injured his left shoulder last year against Oklahoma, a 26-10 loss at home that knocked Missouri out of the Top 25.

USF wasn't all that impressive last weekend, but nevertheless, it still picked up a road win. Now back at home, expect the Bulls to refocus and use their tremendous defense to generate turnovers, and in the process, remain undefeated.

Keep an eye on Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall, as he is a big-time NFL prospect. The Illini are playing with a wealth of confidence, but expect the Hawkeyes to pull an upset.

Kansas is coming off a huge win and it should have no trouble building off it this weekend. The Jayhawks are simply the better team from top to bottom and they should be able to slow down the Bears' one-dimensional offense for the victory.

Texas has an outstanding chance to get back in the win column this weekend. Iowa State is not a good football team, and an upset on Saturday is unlikely.

In this rivalry game, both teams figure to play with some added energy. North Carolina will likely keep things close, especially with the help of the home crowd, but South Carolina is the better team and will win.

The Wildcats had little chance of winning this game before USC lost focus a week ago. Rest assured, Pete Carroll will have that focus fine-tuned this week, as the Trojans make light work of Arizona, with or without their quarterback at the helm.

Washington State (2-4) at (9) Oregon (4-1), Saturday, 3:30 pm
The Cougars will find no relief in Eugene this weekend. The Ducks will bounce back from the loss to Cal, with a shootout victory over WSU.

How the Badgers respond now that their lengthy winning streak is over will go a long way to determining the final outcome of this one. Expect UW coach Bret Bielema to have his troops focused on the task at hand, and while the Nittany Lions are going to fight tooth and nail, Wisconsin will get back in the win column.

Andre Woodson is certainly eager to put the shaky performance against South Carolina behind him, but it is hard to imagine the standout signal-caller rebounding against LSU. Expect the Tigers to pull this one out on the road.

(4) Boston College (6-0) at Notre Dame (1-5), Saturday, 3:30 pm
Go with the Eagles in this tilt, as they are a much more complete team than Notre Dame. Sure, the Fighting Irish may play with a renewed sense of confidence, but they are simply overmatched this weekend.

(24) Georgia (4-2) at Vanderbilt (3-2), Saturday, 6 pm
Expect this game to be close, as Vanderbilt will feed off the home crowd. Still, go with the Bulldogs, as Matt Stafford will outplay Chris Nickson.

Typically, teams schedule a pushover opponent for Homecoming, and while Oklahoma probably figured that Missouri would be just that when the schedule was made, the Tigers are more than capable of putting up a fight in this one. Still, expect Bob Stoops' troops to take care of business.

The Beavers have the offensive weapons to score on California, but the Golden Bears have more firepower and should be able to post a double-digit win here.

The Cardinals have been simply dreadful on defense this season and that will likely be their downfall this weekend once again. The Bearcats have shown they can move the ball on anyone and they should be able to slow down Brian Brohm just enough to hold on for the win this weekend.

Felix Jones is the nation's most underrated football player, as he is a threat to score every time he touches the ball on offense and special teams. With Jones and Darren McFadden carrying the load, the Razorbacks will get by the Tigers.

The Sun Devils are red-hot at the moment, but they will be tested by a desperate Washington club this weekend. Still, Rudy Carpenter is having a great year and his strong arm should have ASU undefeated heading into the toughest portion of its schedule.

Weather.com is forecasting heavy precipitation in most Midwest regions today, varying from thunderstorms to showers. Kansas and Nebraska are expected to experience the most severe conditions Saturday.
Fans in Kansas watching the Jayhawks take on the Baylor Bears will be in for an uncomfortable afternoon. There is a 100 percent chance of heavy thunderstorms in Lawrence with strong wind blowing from the southeast at 18 mph and temperatures dropping as low as 57 degrees.
Colorado at Kansas State will also experience the same brutal conditions found in Lawrence. The forecast is calling for partly cloudy conditions with a 100 percent chance of thunderstorms in Manhattan. The forecast is also calling for extremely heavy wind blowing from the southeast at 19 mph with the temperature hovering around 60 degrees at Snyder Stadium.
Conditions aren’t expected to be as severe in Iowa and Nebraska as in other parts of the Midwest.
Illinois at Iowa will get some wet conditions as well as some cool temperatures. The forecast for Iowa City indicates a 60 percent chance of showers with the temperature dropping as low as 51 degrees at Kinnick Stadium.
Texas at Iowa State, additionally, will experience some of the same conditions found in Iowa City. There is a 100 percent chance of precipitation in Ames, with the temperature hanging around 53 degrees. There is also a light wind blowing from the southeast at 10 mph.
Oklahoma State at Nebraska will see light thunder storms this afternoon. There is a 100 percent chance of rain in Lincoln, Nebraska with a good chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the afternoon. There is a 16 mph wind blowing from the southeast that will cause the temperature to drop as low as 56 degrees this evening.
Farther west, Air Force at Colorado State will be subject to light thunderstorms at Hughes Stadium. There is a 40 percent chance of precipitation in Fort Collins, Colorado with the temperature potentially falling to a bone-chilling 43 degrees Saturday afternoon.
