Mizzou +17.5
I see a huge revenge spot and letdown situation for this game. In last season's Big 12 championship game, Oklahoma won a second straight conference title and spoiled Missouri's national title hopes. This season the story is flipped with the Sooners trying to hold on to their BCS Title hopes. If they lose, the Longhorns will get into their deserving spot for the national title. Yes, I said deserving. Texas should be playing in this game as they did beat the Sooners head up on a neutral field earlier this season. However, I won't get into the politics of the BCS flawed system. Karma lives in college football also, and don't think for one second the Tigers are going to let the Sooners walk away with an easy win. They will have to fight for it unlike their recent games.
After all, the Tigers are playing another game at Arrowhead this week, a field they have gotten to know very well this season. Let's not forget this game is in the state of Missouri, and the Tigers are going to have a major crowd advantage for this game despite what the experts say. There will be a haze of black and gold to support the Tigers here as this is a huge game for them.
Last week was a huge letdown for Mizzou as they got caught looking ahead to this game right here. Despite taking two leads in the fourth quarter, the Tigers couldn't stop the Jayhawks from scoring two touchdowns in the final 4:26 - the last coming with 27 seconds left on a fourth-and-7 pass. Atonement will be on the table for the Tigers in this one. The Tigers are 5-3 ATS coming off a loss to a conference rival and 1-0 ATS as the underdog of 10.5 to 21 points.
If this game were at Oklahoma, I would most likely have to back the Sooners. However, this is not the case and the home field advantage actually goes to the Tigers. The Tigers are certainly capable of keeping up with Oklahoma on the scoreboard as they are facing a defense that has allowed at least 21 points in seven straight games and has given up 400 or more yards in six of those contests.
Back the Tigers +17.5 as they remain competitive in this game and may possibly pull the outright upset.
You know it's trouble when your replying to your own post.
What I meant was Mizzou +57 instead of 17.5 😉
A terrible terrible call on my behalf, this is an embarrassment.
